New Economy: Outlet Centers

Just a decade ago the stores that line Bond Street, Madison Avenue and Via Montenapoleone, would have rather burned their inventory rather than sell it through discount centers. Today the story is totally different. Big brands like Chanel and Dior entered the outlet game even before the economy started to rot. The photo looks like Bicester Village in Oxford, England. I went there about five years ago and it was pretty great. Then again, the exchange rate was about $1.50 to the pound at the time...
