Commentary: Expect lots of great inventory because this has not been a steller year for jewelry. The discount is usually about 50% off retail. In past seasons, shoppers were happily surprised by the price range, which includes pieces that can be afforeded even by mortals.

This year, there is no mention of having your invite with you. Even in years that they said you needed an invitation you could get in without one.

when I went this morning, they had south sea pearl chokers. very nice. not ENORMOUS, but definitely over 9mm

Yes, there really was a nice selection of pieces. The poster with with the earrings and choker is exactly right there was a wide range of prices. I bought a pair of classic earrings for day/work and a pair for evenings out. This sale is worth dropping by...

no opera length strands--I wanted one and asked. I did not pay attention to whether or not they had bracelets.

there this morning -definantly go if you can before it closes at 3pm. Bought 5 pieces full price $15,000 at 70% off ended up before tax approx $4,500. All black south sea as well including diamonds in the setting.

I got three pieces from the Akoya collection - a ring, necklace and earrings for $991 including tax. Next sale is in June, they say! I'll definitely be there.
