Madison Avenue Sale Update

We are slowly working our way down the Avenue. Many stores still have not started a markdown but every store is willing to help you pre-shop sale time.

We are also finding that several of our favorite sales associates have been let go or are no longer at their respective stores. Creating relationships -- especially trusting fashion relationships--is never easy. So when your contact leaves your store experience is bound to change. Below are some examples of changing relationships as well as sale information:

Bottega Veneta:
There's no sale date and no item list, however if you would like to come in and shop the collection they will keep a watchful eye on your selections. We expect ready-to-wear to go straight to 50% off and bags and accessories to markdown 40%.

Christian Louboutin:
Nothing has been confirmed. We expect this boutique to hold out for a while, after all they have a luxury image to protect.
Erich 212-396-1884

Dolce & Gabbana:
The store is holding a private sale for their premier shoppers. The discount is 40% and if you have a problem drop Lila's name.
Cono 212-249-4100

Gucci:
Maura is no longer there and getting sale information is difficult. After a long conversation we were invited to walk through the store and point out our favorite items so that we can "prepare for the situation." We're not sure what situation we are preparing for exactly but we will be happy for a 50% discount.
Nora 212-717-2619

Jimmy Choo:
Zita is no longer at the Choo box and Jenny told us that they will not be going on sale for "a few months." Don't you know that there's big demand for sandals way into September!? We'll have to check back again.

My contact at Gucci (not at a store in the city) told me to plan on the sale starting at the usual time around labor day and of course there will be presale. No idea of what is on sale yet, you can plan on cruise and spring summer items and then there is typically a few pieces from the classic collection that are being discontinued. No idea on exacts though.

I was in Dior on Madison today and no signs of sale

Still lots of stock at Missoni

Ralph Lauren Sale is in full swing too. The 72st store was busier than the 80th.

Went to Clydes too and I was literally the only one there, never seen it that empty.

Christian Louboutin will not be on sale for another couple weeks :( I called and spoke with someone at the Madison Ave boutique today.

If anyone went to the Ralph Lauren sale at the 80th st store, double check your receipt and make sure you got all the discounts. I just looked at mine and the extra 15% was not taken off, I talked to a friend that had the same problem. I don't think it is intentional because when I was given the total verbally it was less than the amount on the receipt that I was charged. There must have been some sort of computer error.

went to Bally - nothing great, wait until they do another 20% off. YSL was blah, muse bags only 30% off, shoes were a wide range but nothing that jumped out again 30-40% off
