Prada Friends and Family 70% Off

This is the end of the line for spring/summer at Prada. Prices at the boutiques are now 70% off for "friends and family."

Worried that you're not related or bffs with anyone who works at Prada? Don't fret. Lets put it this way, everyone who walks in the store and buys something is a "friend." The sale starts Friday and runs through Sunday. By the end of the weekend, however, we predict that there will be next to nothing left.

Here are a few examples of bag prices: A soft sided nappa leather hobo is now $450, a Nappa B is now $700 and a rose umbra to black with gold hardware is now about $650.

clarification: It appears as if the high volume of calls from Mad-Spy readers has caused some Prada sale associates to become more strict about the sale than usual. I appologise for any inconvience.

Anybody find some great bags on the 5th ave store?

I just tried the 577th St store and they don't know anything about it. I think this is only going on at the Madison Ave and Soho stores that are mentioned in the post.

Just called the SOHO store--bought a tote over the phone, they gave me the 70% and didn't even ask if I was a Friend or Family!

Also called the Los Angeles store and bought some shoes--they also gave me the discount, no questions asked.

Is this on Miu Miu too?

Just called the SOHO store and was told that it was only 40% or 50% off...

Is this for wallets too? Everything? All their inventory or just some stuff?

limited selection of bags and wallets are 70% off, shoes are 50% off in Soho store.

Shoes and bags are 70% off in Los Angeles store...with a huge selection of women's clothing marked down too.

Was in the Soho store earlier today, ready to buy. The most useful person there was the doorman. I stood right next to a sales person, but she was apparently too busy checking herself out in the mirror to bother assisting me. Pathetic. That's why she's stuck selling clothes in a store she can't afford.

I was at the SOHO store around 6:00pm. The men's dept was kind of quiet. One of the associates told me they were offering 70% off just for today as "an experiment". And then he walked away and chatted with his buddies. I was helped by another associate. After I tried the suits on, I asked if they were 70% off. She asked me if I was friends and family. I said yes and I got 70% off.

Just went to the Madison avenue store was told that FF sale is only 40%. I asked if it was 70% yesterday and she made a face and told me that it was never at 70%. Why not just say that it was 70% but now it is 40% or that 70% is only for employee's friends and family. Why lie? Bought 17 Prada bags for the last 5 years, I guess I am not their "friend". Pretty pissed.

If you go to a high end store, and you get treated like shit go write a review on google !!

I asked a sales guy (A) what the discount is and he said "It's 70% off for friends and family"

I later asked the another sales guy(B) if a particular item was part of the sale and he said "Yes it is, it's 40% off"

To which I replied "(A) told me it was 70% off" This seemed to fluster (B) who just froze up and said nothing.

Not sure what everyone is complaining about. Went to SoHo saturday and got a good amount of stuff at 70% off. The sales guy even came up and TOLD me about the sale. Went to 5th ave store on Sunday and did the same thing. No question about being friends and family. They seemed happy to get rid of the stuff.

On problem is that the men's shoes were all from S/S 08 and the sales guy even admitted this in SoHo.
