Independent Chanel boutiques are all in agreement that no price changes are occurring any time soon. Saks and Bergdorf sales women seem sure that price increases are imminent. Are the department stores trying the pressure sell or are they just brave enough to brake the news? We think iit's the potential sale that is pushing the department store sales people but what do yout think?

We haven't been informed of anything. We usually don't get information far in advance but for Nov. 1st I believe we would know about it.

We don't know exactly when, but yeah. Probably everything is going up. Cruise is coming in and handbags are $3000 or $4000. The last time they went up $1000. For the last increase (last year) a bag was $1895 and now it's $2495. Usually "they" come in the morning and just change the prices.

I think it is true. I honestly don't know how much or which styles. I think the caviar classic. I think the caviar jumbo classic is going to be $2825, an extra $175. "They" just come down with the new tickets and change them.

None of ours. We haven't gotten any word of that. Usually it's every two years but no word on that.

i am sure its not a price increase but a result of the plunging dollar vs the euro.
I could be making this up, but I thought I read an article a few months back that quoted someone at Chanel saying that they were making an effort to not raise prices given the economy. Even LV has not had a price increase lately and sometime they do it twice a year.
My source has told me last week that there will be a 15% price increase from 1 Nov 09
I went to Chanel Dept. @ Saks fifth yesterday and they still have not increased yet. Also i asked the sales lady there and she just told me normally Chanel will increase the price between Dec. to March. So if anyone want to get it, it's better to get it before this month.
