A RealReal Consignment Deal

Has anyone noticed how inflated vintage and consignment stores have become? Just last week we were shopping in a local store and spotted a DVF dress that was clearly off a sample rack. (The red sharpie line on the tag was the giveaway.)

This is not an isolated insident. We can’t even count the amount of times we find inflated prices at second hand stores. That’s why we were so thrilled to find The RealReal.

The RealReal is a new online luxury designer consignment destination for women. The site is divided into well curated selections of top designers like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Dolce and Gabanna and more. What’s even better is that the prices are fair and ticketed to sell.

That doesn’t mean that the sellers don’t get a great deal too. Consigners receive 60% of the sales price, which is a lot more than traditional resellers. Then when you reach sales of $1,500 per year, your rate increases to 70% for the remainder of that calendar year. Sounds good, right?

In addition, The RealReal  is hosting a promotion where winter mechandise will be 60% off. The markdown includes higher end designers, in addition to second tier warehouse designers.

That's a deal on a deal. Sign up now and don't miss any of The RealReal's sales.

seems a bit harsh to take down all resale shops over the perception of a few 'inflated' items in favor of an advertiser. pieces aren't typically priced randomly. you may have seen something that's not available, hard to find, a hot item, etc.
