S'well Sample Sale/Bandier
It wasn't until the Swell's last sample sale was ending that we realized that we needed bottles for camp. In a panic, a friend picked them up for us. Stock up, after a while, they start to leak and the ones sent to camp picked up a 'lake smell.' For $10, you don't have to feel guilty about replacing them a few times a year. Sometimes it's great to go big and the Bulgari sample sale happens to be a great resource for big purchases. We suggest going for watches, which can be the perfect combination of sporty and chic. Look for discounts of 60% off. Bulgari bags and glasses are also a big hit but make sure the discounts are reasonable. Lots of people like to stock up on fragrances and give them away as holiday gifts. We don't judge. Bulgari is Bulgari-- no matter where it's purchased.

The Official Jimmy Choo Sample Sale Invite

Choo, Choo: All aboard who is coming aboard!

The Jimmy Choo sample sale is about to pull into the sample sale station and if you want to come abroad you must have a confirmed ticket. No worries, we have all the details to get you in and out of the first class cabin.

The sale opens to the public on Wednesday, November 1 at the Metropolitan Pavillion. To attend the sale you must use this link to RSVP. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter the code CELESTE to receive your email confirmation number. Each indivitual must have a confirmation number to get into the sale.

For the uninitiated, this sale is legendary for its amazing prices and gigantic mess. Basic pumps and sandals are usually $200, booties are $325 and boots are $375. Women's shoes run from size 35 to 40 and men's go from 43 to 46. At the last sale men's shoes were priced at $250 or $375 and included loafers, Oxfords, driving shoe and ankle boots.(Above are an assortment of Jimmy Choo shoes that can be found for about the same price online.)

Expect to find shoes piled high and thrown all over the floor. We still can't figure out who a luxury brand can be so disrespectful to its own merchandise. Even with such discounted prices it can be hard to motivate yourself to even spend $200.

The wait to get into this sale can be massive but the new RSVP system usually limits the amount of attendees. We suggest that you RSVP right away. We can only assume that the list will close when it hits a certain number of RSVPs.

Take note, that prices towards the end of the sale are reduced to just $100. That's when it's really worth scavenging around the floor for Choos.

Intermix Fall Clearance Offers 70% Off

Just in time for the weekend, we found a sale to motivate us to work through Friday. Today, Intermix started a fall clearance sale where discount merchandise is reduced an extra 40% off. The sale includes lots of items that can easily fit into your wear-now wardrobe.

We found this pretty Derak Lam top that comes to $251 from almost $900, a ruffle sleeve top comes to $90 from $355 and Frame jeans are just $!00 from almost $300. Striped Rag & Bone booties ($215 from about $600) and Lele Sadoughi paved link earrings ($70 from $175) are perfect accessories to make Thanksgiving a bit more festive.

The sale is online and in stores. The Madison Avenue boutique has some of the sale items listed on the site but we always find that we have better luck Downtown. Overall, shopping online is the easiest but, take note, all sale items aren't returnable.

Shopbop's First Big Markdown

Online retailers don't quite run sale season the same way traditional store calendars negotiate markdowns. Shopbop for example, just started what we would consider, the first big round of markdowns. Meanwhile, most products are still full price at nearly everywhere you shop.

Digging in, we are just nuts for floral prints this Fall and have been collecting casual dresses just like this one from Alice & Olivia, which is now 30% off or $275 from nearly $400. Here is s Tibi top ($262 from $375) that will look great for work with black plants and also works perfectly with jeans for a more casual look. Many Golden Goose sneakers are discounted 30% but sizes are starting to get slim. Even our favorite Tumi suitcase is 30% off.

Of course, there are the more reduced items from seasons past. Some newcomers in the 70% off area are this Preen dress that's now $472 from nearly $1500. A Tome sleeveless shirt is $178 from $1600. This Rodarte bomber jacket is a almost affordable for $525 from $1750.

If the item you're watching isn't included in this markdown it is likely to be added in the next sale drop. Usually the site adds another batch of merchandise to its sale during the first week of November.

Big News: Manolo Sample Sale

We love Fall in New York-- the changing leaves, the Park Avenue mums, and yes, the Manolo Blahnik sample sale. Our sources tell us that this year's Fall sample sale will open to the public on Wednesday, October 25th. As is tradition, the second floor salon of the Warwick Hotel will be the site of the event.

This sample sale is a bi-annual highlight for shoe lovers. As you can imagine, the wait time can be worse than a passport agency. We usually prefer the boutique sales even if prices are a bit more expensive. You can read the full report from last season over here. (Those who can't make it to the sale can shop an assortment of brand new Manolos starting at just $75 from the scroll above.)

Shoppers who are up for the Manolo sample sale challenge, should expect to take a number and wait, and wait, and wait. The really nice thing about this sale is that you can leave and come back once you get your lucky numbered ticket. Take note, that the sale opens at 11am and will close when inventory begins to run low. In past years, that was at about 3pm to 4pm, which does't leave a big window for shopping.

We expect that prices will run along the same lines as last season. Plain shoes, including leather, suede satin, and printed fabric start at $125 ($136 with tax) and go up to $150. Shoes with embellishments like glitter and studs were priced $175. Boots started at $200 for basic versions and went up to $400 for over-the-knee styles.

Over the past few seasons the assortment has been dwindling. Manolo Blahnik & Co. recently added a fundraising component to their overstock strategy. A sale to benefit Arethusa Farm Scholarship Fund for University of Connecticut Agricultural Studies. A good amount of stock that would show up at the bi-annual sample sale has gone to the, so called, farm.

At the last sale, by 10am the crowds of VIPs had thinned and the shopping environment was very civilized. Sizes 37.5 to size 39 were already running very thin. The best selection was for sizes 40.5 and up or 36 and below. Doors opened to the public at 11am sharp and the room filled with many more shoppers-- many seemed like resellers.

Remember, the sale is open to the public for only one day. That's a good indication that there will not be much merchandise. If you attend the sale, please keep us all posted in the comment section below.

Bergdorf Goodman Gift Cards

No matter how much we try to hold out for sale season, there are always a few items we need immediately. Considering the weather is going to change soon, it's now or never if you want to get into fall fashion. Sometimes finding a good gift card promotion could be your best (and only) discount option.

Bergdorf Goodman is offering online suppers up to $1000 in gift cards. The incentive breakdown is below:

Spend $500 or more and receive $75
Spend $1000 or more and receive $150
Spend $2000 or more and receive $400
Spend $5000 or more and receive $1000

The sale is only running one more day, October 23. The best part is that there are hardly any exclusions besides for the likes of Gucci, Balenciaga and Chanel. Qualifying items are indicated in green. Just use the code BGFALL at checkout to automatically receive your electronic gift card.

Some fashion pieces never seem to go on sale and others we just refuse to wait for. For example, we never got a new down jacket last year and it might be time to update your Moncler. These Off-White bags keep going up in price. Last season they were $900 and now they are up to $1100. Manolo Hangisi flats look better than Gucci loafers and are less "fashion uniform."

Once you get started, it's hard to stop. After all, any incentive is reason enough start the new shopping season.

Neiman Marcus Secret Sale: Givenchy, Balmain & Pilotto

Starting Sunday, Neiman Marcus will begin a promotion where merchandise that's been reduced up to 85% off will be discounted an extra 25%. That will bring the total discount to nearly 90% off retail. The sale is private and only for 'best customers' so you must use this link to access the additional discounts. Remember the extra, markdowns won't be live until Sunday.

For now, you can start browsing and filling your cart. This Stella McCartney dress with zipper details is already reduced under $200 from almost $1300. A Tom Ford dress with a deep v-neck is currently reduced to $1362 from $6450. The extra markdown will bring the price down to just about $1000. We absolutely love this Peter Pilotto cold-shoulder ruffled blouse that's about $190 from nearly $1000. It's hard to resist this firey Balmain dress that will be about $750 from more than $3745.

Over in the shoe department, the discounts aren't quite as good. These shoes from The Row are about as on point as a shoe style can get. After the discount they are $270 but it's a far cry from the starting price of $1150. Chloe suede boots are $405 from $1350 and Aquazzura flats are $225 from $750. Tom Ford shoes should be about $400 from $1790. Aquazzura shoes will only be $185 from $725.

This sale is scheduled to go public on Sunday and will only run through Wednesday. We suspect there will also be a bonus day but we don't expect many of the best items to stick around.

Fall Fashion: Great Jackets & Coats

The weather is starting to get nippy and we can't bear the idea of starting a whole new season in last year's coats. Yes, it's time for a outerwear makeover.

In New York, fashionable outerwear is more important than perhaps anywhere else. You can essentially wear the same outfit every day and nobody will know because we are always in coats and jackets. New York Winters can be brutal.

Before we get ahead of ourselves we need to spruce up our Fall style. We've found that Nordstrom has one of the best selections of outerwear and includes almost every style and price point you can desire.

The most important item for Fall is always a leather Moto jacket. You only need one and if you buy the right one you can wear it for decades. This Saint Laurent version ($4890) is classic and perfect in cut and style. We've also been stalking the Rick Owens biker jackets ($3295). The funnel collar is dark and sexy and the body fits like a glove. Over here is a Proenza jacket ($2950) that has the look of a biker style but is made of a fantastic stretch wool.

If you're looking for something a little more demure, we love a cashmere coat. Here is a version from Acne ($1150) that is a rose petal pink, which looks fantastic against the burned colors of Fall. We love this heather grey Armani double face cashmere wrap coat ($3795). It's so soft that you'll never want to take it off. Here is a Ted Baker style ($575) that is much less expensive but offers a similar look.

Once we get into the holiday season, it's time to bulk it up to keep warm. On the coldest of days, we go for a puffer. Moncler is always a classic choice for a puffer. This season, we suggest going with a bright color. We love this 80s throwback ($1590) in bright red and this velvet puffer ($1295) hits so many trends that it's very hard to resist adding an extra jacket to existing repertoire. We also love this less expensive option from Hyein Seo ($650) it has all the styling and warmth of the expensive brands for a fraction of the price.

The dressed-up puffer counterpart is a shearling. Marques'Almeida's version ($3145) is both swanky, warm and stylish. Here is a option from Sandy Ling ($2250) that is business in the front and party in the back. (Let's call it the mullet of coats.)

As always, online shoppers should take advantage of Nordstrom's great customer service, which features free shipping and free returns. If only all stores were as easy to shop as Nordstrom.

Private Lanvin Sale: 90% Off

Some sales are so wonderful that it's hard to post about them. The current Lanvin sale is one of these sales. The (loosely) invite-only sale started on Monday and offers a great assortment of clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags and accessories for men, women and a tiny rack of kid's.

All dresses-- long and short-- are discounted 90%. All other men's and woman's merchandise is 80% off retail. Most of the clothing is from 2016 and 2015. We did see some Albert Elbaz throwbacks, which of course, are the nicest. (We snatched a few pictures over here.)

We spotted this metallic lace blouse that was about $400 from $2000 the dress version was even nicer and came to just $385 from $3855, this multi cover silk top that was under $300, this ruffled dress tat comes to about $200 and this ruffled blouse in blue dress is under $300 too. (Over here it's 70% off, which isn't bad either.) There was this crepe dress in black, which fits like a glove and is only $170 from $1740.

Shoes are divided by size under the racks of clothing. Most shoes were in the $250 range from $1200. There were some ballet flats but not many in each size. We spotted these heels that are about $220 from $1100. You can see pictures of other bags at the sale right here. Jewelry can be found on a long table. Among the baubles, we spotted a lot of items like this necklace. Prices were about $200 to $500 from $1000 from $2500.

The sale has some bags but we aren't fans of the current collection. We spotted this hot pink cross body that's about $300 from $1500. There are also several Jiji styles in various colors, like this stripped version for about $420. (We have pictures over here.)

Men can also make it out big at this sale. We didn't go through the merchandise closely but an entire half of the showroom is devoted to men's items. There are also men's shoes, bow-ties, lapel pins and cufflinks.

This sale is always very civilized and orderly. There is a guard at the door taking names. Sometimes they check the list, sometimes they don't. If the sale becomes too crowded, we are sure the door policy will become more strict. If you do get in, be kind and make sure to share the one tiny dressing area mirror. It's a tight squeeze!

StyleBop Discounts Hit 80% Off

StyleBop will be offering a deal that might be hard to refuse. Starting Tuesday, a selection of sale merchandise that is already discounted 70% off will be an extra 20% off. The special promotion runs through Sunday and the total savings are upwards of 80% on some items.

We were actually very surprised about how how many great items we found. Check out this Missoni wool cape that's $800 from $3400. It's perfect for the weather right now and is fabulously chic. Here is a Marios Schwab dress that will be about $430 from $1800 and looks made-to-measure once it's on the body. Over this way, is an Off-White bomber jacket that will come to $400 from $1630.

The extra discount promotion extends beyond the most discounted sale merchandise and can be applied to almost all reduced items. (We just like to target the best deals, of course.) Fendi flats are already rescued 40% and these leather pants will have you ready through the next season.

As far as sales go, StyleBop's selection seems to be pretty on point. There is even an assortment of sizes still available. Seems like a good opportunity to pick up something extra nice before the holiday shopping begins.

Inside the Bonpoint Sample Sale

The Bonpoint sample sale doesn't officially start until tomorrow but there were dozens of eager shoppers vying for VIP access. people when we arrived immediately before the sale opened. This season's sale is almost identical to past sales season's.  There seems to be even more inventory than usual.

Most items at the Bonpoint sample sale is at set 60% off the retail sticker. Shoes, pullover sweaters and pants discounted 70%. That means that more formal dresses, which are normally priced in the $300-range are reduced to $120-ish. More casual dresses are about $200 in the boutique and come to about $80 at the sale. Boy's trousers are about $60 from $150 and collared shirt comes to $48 from $120. (Click here to see lots of pictures from inside the sale.)

The majority of the inventory appears to be from the fall 2016 collection. Sorting through the clothing, there is almost something for everyone. We might go even as far to say that the selection is better than past seasons because there are a lot of classic items, which sometimes don't make it to the sale. There was even a larger inventory in sizes two and three, which is usually nonexistent.

The sale also includes accessories, coats, blankets, pajamas, jackets and sweaters. Most of the shoppers were loading up full bags of merchandise. We suggest that Bonpoint shoppers head over quickly and those who aren't can find lots of success at Zara kids.

Saks Hidden Discounts of 75% (Fendi,YSL & Miu Miu)

It seems as if Saks Fifth Avenue's philosophy of buy and hold isn't working out so well. The retailer seems to be holding a hefty amount of inventory from Winter 2016 and Summer 2017 and is now trying to quietly looking to dispose of the inventory. This is the perfect opportunity to grab that item you thought got away.

The discount is an additional 20% off, which brings the total discount to 75% on many items. The promotion runs through Monday at midnight. You can access the sale through this link.

The shoes are particularly amazing. Some of our favorite items include these Fendi combat boots with fur reduced to $485 from $1600, a Miu Miu jeweled and fathered sandals are $400 from almost $1300 and Jimmy Choo red suede peep-toe heels are about $270 from almost $900.

Among the clothing is a Jonathan Simkhai peplum top with bell sleeves that's $100 from $365, a Dodo Bar Or dress is $110 from $438 and a Balmain dress is $540 from $2155. This leather dress was a highlight of Hedi Slimane's last collection for Saint Laurent and was originally $5000 but can be yours for $1200.

What's most interesting is that the small print in the email promotion says, "If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied, you may return your purchase for an exchange or refund. Online purchase may also be returned, free of charge, to any Saks Fifth Avenue store." We like that idea.

Rugs and Carpet Warehouse Sale

Finding top quality rugs for a deep discount isn't easy.  Shopping the Internet just doesn't cut it when you're looking for an item that will be the focal point of a room for 10 years or more. Quality and style can't always be distinguished through a computer monitor.

For this reason we were thrilled to find Aminco. The Secaucus-based company supplies top retailers  and designers with fine carpets and rugs. The assortment spans from designer modern to antique treasures. For three days only, Aminco is opening its warehouse to the public. Discounts will range up to 80% off.

During a preview, we spotted a 5x8 what type of rug for $745 from almost $2500, a 7x7 wool and silk rug was $2975 from almost $11,000 and an assortment of smaller pieces were just $25 from a retail value of $125. You can click here to see examples of items that can be found at the sale.

Remember, this sale is only three days. Call the garage and have them send up the car. As an added bonus, Gucci has an outlet in Secaucus too. Amiinco will even help you coordinate transportation if you call ahead. This trip through the tunnel is a no-brainer.

Forzieri Sale: Bags & Shoes 70% Off

European online luxury store, Forzieri is hosting a promotion where all sale items are reduced an extra 20%. Just use the code XTR20 to engage the additional markdown, which brings the discount on most shoes and handbags to a wonderful 70% off.

The best part of this sale is that there is a great selection available. We've been taking about how much we love polka dots and these Charlotte Olympia shoes punctuate the trend perfectly, especially since they come to $200 from $645. Moschino super star heels heels are about $130 from about $600. Among the bags is this fringe Pucci style that's $580 from nearly $1800 and this Jil Sander tote with grommets is $890 from about $2200.

If you're shopping for Winter, the full price collection is 20% off. (Use the code FF20.) Balmain launched its first handbag selection this season. This styling resembles Vesace, and we aren't sure that's a good thing.

We would suggest using that 20% discount for a JW Anderson Pierce bag, which is one of the hottest styles of the season. The Saint Laurent Envelope Monogram bag is always a classic. You can't say that about most designer bags-- especially these days. (Looking at you Gucci.)

A Not-So-Quite Hermès Sale: Manhasset, NY

If you've been following along, you've already heard about the heartbreak of losing our annual Hermes sample sale. Word is that the big sale is being moved to Chicago but closer to home there is an off-site Hermes boutique sale in Manhasset, NY.

Everything at the Wheatley Plaza store is discounted 50% off retail. There are no handbags, watches, home goods or baby bags. Last year, customers were most excited to find lots of enamel bracelets but there are none this time around.

Shoppers can expect to find ready-to-wear, shoes, belts, ties, silk scarves, cashmere scarves, hats and ponchos. Our resident Hermes expert called this sale a major fail and left empty handed. Other insiders weren't as critical and were thrilled by the various Oran sandals. (You know, the ones that are shaped in an H.) Other customers reported caftans, sneakers and other small accessories, like key chains.

The Manhasset sale is open through Thursday, October 12. We hear they are only allowing one or two people in at a time. Some customers reported waiting for two hours and then giving up. We expect that the lines will even be longer on Wednesday as news of the sale extends past Woodmere, Great Neck and Sands Point.

There are no purchasing limits. This isn't the first time we've uncovered this Mall of Manhasset offsite sale. Here is our coverage from last year. It would be great help if anyone attending the sale added details in the comment section below.

The IT-it: Silver Booties

It's not exactly boot weather but anyone can clearly see that stores are betting big on the metallic boot trend. Almost every designer is offering a version of mirrored silver boots-- to be specific.

πŸ“ΈThe Native Fox
Let's be clear, these aren't the $10,000 shiny crystal boots from Saint Laurent or copy cat brands. This season's biggest shoe trend is mirror reflective or metallic shiny. Some of the biggest standouts are Balenciaga's mirrored leather ankle boots ($855), Acne low ankle boots ($540) and the Isabel Marant ankle boots ($540) are almost the same but a little higher and the heel is the perfect geometric triangle. The Off-White version ($1190) is more industrial looking because of the rubber sole but the thin heel makes them 100% sexy. Of course, Saint Laurent has a version ($995) and the Proenza style ($915) has a patent black tip that is reminiscent of a Chanel boot. Oh yes, Chanel has something for you too ($1400).

You don't necessarily need to opt for a thigh-high version and pair it with a Snoop tee (like the above picture). Surprisingly, these eye-catching shoes look great with lots of fall's other trends. Match your silver boots with a rich velvet skinny pant, a wine colored midi-pleated skirt or a mini leather skirt with silver zippers. A more casual look can be a blouse or tee with rolled up jeans.

Who knew mirrored boots would be so easy to integrate into your closet and we give you 100% permission to go with the Snoop tee if you think you can pull it off.

Sample Sale Update: Devi Kroell, Dolce & Gabbana, Bonpoint & J. Mendel

It's hard to believe it's mid-October when temperatures are still topping 80-degrees. We wouldn't complain a moment about wearing shorts for Halloween, but we all know that this warm streak won't last. Yes, Winter is coming.

We started a list of the best sample sales of the month but felt remiss not calling out some new biggies. Below are the details of some new favorites. The master list is still over here. Happy sale-ing.

Devi Kroell
It's been ages since the designer's namesake has been at the helm of the company. Nonetheless, we've always been fans of the architecturally inspired designs. We are hoping to find lots of exotic leather bags for 80% to 90% off (like we found in 2013) but we can't exactly bet on it.
Monday October 9th Through Friday, October 13
Mon-Thurs 10am-7pm, Fri 10am-6pm
55 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1701
Payment by credit cards only

Dolce & Gabbana
Who doesn't love a powerful floral print at 70% off? The problem with this sample sale is always the line. Last season, shoppers reported waiting more than four hours to get in. If you wait until the end of the sale you will find less lines and deeper discounts. Play your cards right and you can score some great Dolce without your blood raising to the highest of a hot blooded Italian.
Thursday, October 12 through Sunday, October 15
Thurs 10am-7pm, Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 9am-6pm, Sun 10am-6pm
Soiffer Haskin, 317 W. 33rd St. (bet. 8th & 9th Ave.)

Bonpoint
Uptowners are notorious for wardrobing their tots for this French luxury sample sales. Expect the sale to be fully stocked with a large assortment of winter merchandise, including boots, coats, sweaters and winter accessories. As always, the discount will be a straight 60% off retail. (Shoes are sometimes discounted more.) The last day of the sale sometimes sports extra markdowns -- but not always.
Tuesday October 17 through Thursday October 19
Tues 1pm-8pm, Wed 9am-8pm, Thurs 9am-3pm
Metropolitan Pavilion: 123 West 18st Street (betwn 6th &7th Ave.), 5th floor

J. Mendel
Expect to find furs, gowns and shoes at 75% off. During a past sale we found a fox coat for about $2400, a chinchilla for $8000 and shearling for $2000. Gowns ran from size 0 to 12 and ranged from $5000 for a couture black and gold tulle gown to $135 for a satin blouse. This VIP sale is by appointment only. RSVP to the email address below.

Saks Friends & Family Sale

The Saks Fifth Avenue Friends & Family sale started online and in stores. Despite the attractive 25% off discount clothing, shoes and accessories, there aren't many designer options included in the promotion.

Far gone are the days of a friendly Prada discount but there are still some designer-y items from which to choose. The friends and family sale is bundled in one link but Saks was extra tricky and added sale merchandise that's not eligible for the additional discount. Look closely before clicking.

Among the designers included in the sale section, shoppers can apply the discount to Acne, Edie Parker and Adam Lippes. There aren't many bags included in the sale. There's only one Anya Hindmarch bag available in the promotional section and over here, we found Edie Parker clutch is $900 from $1200.

The shoe selection is pretty bleak if you're looking for premium designer discounts. The section is filled with designer sale merchandise but almost none are eligible for the friends and family discount. Remember, only certain items are qualified.

Some of our favorite items included in the markdown include, this Clu polka stripped open-sleeve top that's $112 from $150,  a Milly dot print blouse is $266 from $355, DVF boots $366 from $450 and Alice & Olivia heels are $318 from $425.

We aren't too surprised by this sly Saks friends & family sale but think it would be more fitting to change the name to the Saks Trick or Treat sale. For what it's worth, the promotion runs through Sunday online and in stores but we wouldn't be surprised if there was an extension. Tick or treat...

Yoox Hosts Major Clearance Sale -- 90% Off

Yoox may be the most frustrating website in the world to shop. Every search seems to yield 1400 or more pages of search results. We all know that there is good stuff hidden among those 1485-pages (to be exact) but who has the time?

Well. Today, the Italian-based luxury website started a major clearance sale where past season's merchandise is reduced up to 90% off of the original price. The sale runs through October 9 and new categories will continuously be added. Take note, all sales are final. That means no credits, refunds or exchanges. (Not that we ever make it to the post office to mail anything back.)

We just couldn't resist from digging-in. It wasn't easy. We wanted to give up several times, but we maintained the stamina of a marathon runner and the focus of a neurosurgeon. A Lanvan dress (probably from the Elbaz era) is $245 from $2050, an Emilio Pucci lightening bolt dress is $322 from $2300, a jumpsuit from The Row is $314 from $1340 and Balmain ankle booties are just $93 from $850.

We suggest that you take advantage of the filters when shopping. First, only look at your size and the designers you like. Some designers like Lanvin and Pucci are much more discounted than others. If you're not seeing interesting discounts, move on to another designer.

Good luck!

The IT-It: Dotty for Polka Dots

Fashion month is officially over and the most remarkable trend that we have noticed is the lack of changing trends. For many years fashion has moved at such a high validity that it was hard to keep up. This season's runways seemed to showcase lots of carryovers and not a lot of variations from what we've seen and shopped for the past year.

If slower paced fashion is a new trend, we are ready to happily oblige. On of the most noticeable 2.0 trends (maybe even 3.0) is polka dots. Dolce & Gabbana first showcased the print in Spring 2015 and the print is not about to let up now. During fashion week we saw more spots on and off the runway than just about anything else. (You can see our very own polka dot street style pictures right here.)

The pattern was shown and warn mainly in black and white and spanned a range of jumpsuits, jackets and flowing skirts. Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana and Balmain continued to show  the print on the runway for Spring 2018. If you have a lot of dots right now, you can sit pretty. If you haven't jumped on this trend we suggest you to play along.

Nordstrom has a great assortment of polka dot frocks and accessories that span a wide range of budgets. Here is a Marc Jacobs silk polka dot blouse ($395), a wrap dress ($70) but our favorite is the Simone Rocha sweater with dot cut-outs ($505). Layer the sweater over a white top and you have 3D polka dots! There are also lots of great accessories. Here is a polka dot Balenciaga bazaar bag ($2250), spotted pumps from Kate Spade ($298) and dotted drop earrings ($395).

As always, online shoppers should take advantage of Nordstrom's great customer service, which features free shipping and free returns. If only all stores were as easy to shop as Nordstrom.

Hermes Sale Details Unveiled

Orange is the most iconic color of October. There are orange leaves, orange pumpkins and, yes, the orange boxes that dominate the Hermes sample sale. It's that time of year again but New Yorkers might be in for a bit if disappointment.

As far as we can tell, there is no Hermes sale scheduled for this month in the Big Apple. Perhaps it's the line debacles or how we've become increasingly critical of the dwindling inventory. Whatever the reason, it appears as if the Hermes sale is not in the October calendar. That is, it won't be taking place in New York.

Our spies tell us that the annual October sample sale will be taking place in Chicago. The sale will begin on Wednesday, October 18 for VIPs and open to the public Thursday, October 19. If the sale in the Windy City turns out to be anything like NYC, shoppers can expect long lines and no leather products.

At past season's sales, when the chaos was minimal, shoppers found a nice assortment of silk scarves ($270) and ties ($75), twillies ($158) and enamel bracelets ($172-$320). There are always lots of shoes and boots. We always suggest going for a classic riding boot or Oran slides.

Those attending the VIP sale are usually invited with a guest but both attendees are required to RSVP. Names and IDs are checked at the door.

If you can't make it to Chicago, we hear there is a sale planned for Paris, on January 10, 2018. Alternatively, you can shop for Hermes online and find prices just as good-- if not better. Scroll above to see the Hermes deals we found.

OCTOBER SAMPLE SALES πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚ Just added: Manolo

The mums on Park Avenue are the most visible sign that Fall has officially arrived. The changing leaves and cooler weather means that sample sale season isn't too far away. Like post-season baseball, shopping gets serious in October. It's the perfect time of year to be on the lookout for holiday gifts, outerwear and, of course, boots!

We've exclusively listed only the sample sales that we think are worthy of your time and effort. The post will continue to be updated throughout the month and remain just a click away in the right sidebar. You can also follow along on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to get quick and immediate updates. Feel free to leave feedback in the comments section, so that everyone can benefit from the 'Spy' network.
