LN-CC Discount's Gucci 50%

We can't say the Gucci sale was very good this year. The markdown assortment was actually quite poor. If you were looking for sale clothing, it was nearly impossible. We heard that Gucci cut deals with retailers to take back all their merchandise rather than see it discounted.

While surfing some lesser-known online retailers we came upon a stellar Gucci Sale. LN-CC, which is based in Florence, and has an editorially curated website. The best part of the site is that there is a lot of Gucci (and other great designer items) discounted 50% and even more.

Among the Gucci items we found this Gucci bomber reduced to $650 from $1300, this dress fits fabulously and comes to $2100 from $4200 and we just can't get enough of this floral and ruffled silk jacket that's $1585 from $3170. We can't recall ever seeing these Brogue pumps (even in the Gucci boutique in Italy) and they are now $845 from $1700. In case you still need a gift, here is a Gucci knit cap for $150 from $300.

Beyond the Gucci selection we found some great bag finds. This new style Valentino cross body Rockstud Spike is a steal for $504 from $1260 and the flap version is only $530 from $1570. The classic style crossbody is now only $412 from $1030. Over this way is an excellent shade of electric blue Saint Laurent Sac du Jour that's reduced 50% and the smoking clutch is $645 from $1290.

If you can break away from the bag section without too much damage you can check begin loading up on some great fashion clothing. Check out his Fendi blazer ($856 from $2140), the tailoring, especially the sleeves are incredible. Here is a JW Anderson asymmetric draped sweater $522 from from $1380. A leather wrap skirt from Acme is $516 from $1300 and this Jacquemus exaggerated oversized jacket is $432 from $1180.

The sale selection for men is just as good. Browsing the site is really like taking a walk through a wonderfully curated European boutique. Don't forget to say thank you (or damn you) once you're as hooked as we are.

Manolo Begins 2nd Markdown 60% Off

New York is freezing cold. Where should you go to warm up and find some red-hot sales? Head over to Manolo Blahnik boutique's second markdown. The sale started today and we've been told that the inventory is running practically at full stock.

This most recent markdown, follows the 40% discount but proceeds the final and best shopping opportunity of the season. The final markdown is always one of our favorite sales and will likely take place early next year. Prices are likely to range from $195 to $350. Most shoes and low boots-- even highly ornate styles-- are usually priced at about $250.

Expect to find a full assortment of shoes from the Winter collection. Personally, we are waiting to make our major purchases but those in town visiting or looking for a particular item might not want to delay. After all, everyone is out of the city. You can click here to see the reports from past final markdowns or slide through the pics to see what similar discounts can be found online.

ShopBop Discounts 25% Off Sale

We have been waiting all month for Shopbop to host a great promotion. Finally, that time has come. For three days only you can save extra 25% off sale merchandise. Use the code JOY25 when checking out to engage the additional discount.

Over here we found a Rodarte hooded sweatshirt that comes to just $100 from $345. Over here is a ruffled sweater from Philosophy di Lorenzo that is close to 75% off, or $220 from $800. Fendi sunglasses, perfect for your next vacay, are $130 from $500. This Veronica Beard sweater-shirt is $130-ish from $375.

We are in love with these Mira Mikati jeans with ribbon cuffs that are about $100 from nearly $500. We would love to match that sweater with these Frame oversized cuff jeans that are $95 from $225. These high-waist leather pants from K Brand are a major must-have for winter and come to $580 from $1300.

The promotion runs through Thursday. It's all over at the strike of midnight. That's midnight Pacific Time, which gives us East Coasters a few extra hours to shop for the perfect New Years ensemble.

The Five Best Places to Shop After Christmas

Black Friday is for the amateurs. Real shoppers sharpen elbows for the day after Christmas. It's the time of year where you can still find a rather good selection of merchandise that's highly discounted. Over the course of the week you'll also find great opportunities to pounce on hard-to-find items that may have gotten returned.

Below are some of our favorite post-Christmas shopping destinations. Share your favorites in the comment section below:

1. Neiman Marcus
Set your alarm clocks. Starting at 6am CST, Neiman Marcus will be offering customers an additional 50% off some already reduced merchandise. The promotion will only last until noon CST, so we suggest you work fast-- or maybe start loading your cart now. We have our eyes on these Balenciaga logo short boots and these Gianvito Rossi heels.

2. Saks Fifth Avenue
Saks is enticing shoppers with discounts for a total savings of up to 70% off. We suggest you get there when the store opens because when the clock strikes noon the additional savings end. Online shoppers can begin shopping the extra discounts right now and through midnight Monday. A Chloe Faye bag is reduced to $682 from $1950, Valentino biker boots with a bow are $606 from $1445 and Alexander Wang studded slides are $250 from $600.

3. Barneys New York
Barneys still has better markdown opportunities than their competitors. Shortly, the store will begin to lose its competitive edge as other stores reduce accessories and match its 70% off. The biggest Barneys advantage is their fashion lusty inventory. A Calvin Klein tote bag is $789 from almost $2000, Aquazzura ankle tie shoes are $319 from nearly $800, Fabrizio Viti pumps are $290 from $735 and Frame jeans are just $69.

4. Moda Operandi
Luxury e-tailer, Mode Operandi, just slashed prices up to 75% off. Post Christmas, you will notice that a lot more merchandise reduced to lower values. A Rachel Comey blouse is $96 from $300, Jonathan Silkhai denim dress is $188 from $600 and a Delpozo so striped sweater is $476 from $680.

5. Intermix
Sometimes the best discounts are the ones closest to home. We love the variety at Intermix and the markdowns. Right now, you can save up to 75% off once you apply the promotional 40% discount. It takes a little mental math to figure out the numbers but it won't take long for you to get the hang of it. (We find it easiest to divide by 50% and add 10% to get the final price.) These Frame jeans are $95 from $238, Jean-Michel Cazabat open-toe boots are $200 from $600 and a Missoni hat is $140 from $400.

Neiman Marcus Discounts Hit 55% Off

It's the final weekend before Christmas and Neiman Marcus has been lagging behind the pack when it comes to designer discounts. The swanky store's discounts are still not ahead of Barneys in some product areas but the selection is much better than anywhere else.

Among the bags, we found a lot of options under the 50% discount. Over this way we found a Prada tote with velvet Trompe L'eoil detailing for $742 from $1650. A Love bag from Les Petits Joueures is $624 from $1110 and a Chloe Hudson bag is $1044 from $1990. There are also lots of Valentino and Balenciaga bags too.

The shoe section has some great finds too. Over here, we found Balenciaga logo short boots and almost every size is still available. They are reduced to $425 from $945. Fendi slides with faces are $315 from $700, Jimmy Choo Moto boots are $527 from $1050 and Saint Laurent Niki ankle boots are $450 from $900.

Among the clothing, this metallic striped blouse from Haney stopped us in our tracks. At 80% off comes to just $225 from $1200. Here is a Saint Laurent cocktail dress, that's perfect for New Years. It's $1480 from $3290, a Victoria Beckham dress is $403 from $2150 and a rose gold metallic puffer from MSGM is $339 from $755.

If you're still waiting for a better deal Neiman Marcus will bring the additional promotion up to an extra 50% off starting 6am CST on December 26th. This after-Christmas promotion will only run for 3 hours, so set your alarm clock!

Barneys Take a Third Markdown 70% Off: Pics Inside

Most stores wait until after Christmas to take a third markdown but Barneys decided to give their customers' an early holiday gift. Right now, Barneys shoppers can save up to 70% off most items.

The discounts on bags and shoes are holding steady at 60% off but there really isn't a great selection left. (The assortment at Bergdorfs is better but the discount isn't as good.) The best assortment are the Chanel shoes, that are now reduced to 50% off. (You can click here to see pictures.) Among the more discounted shoes, we found Alchimia di Ballin high boots for $519 from $1300, Altuzarra print pumps are $339 from $850 and loafers from the Row are $319 from $800.

The bag selection at Barneys is pretty thin. We are finding the simplicity of the Calvin Klein bags increasingly attractive, especially for $800 from $2000. A tote bag from The Row is $719 from almost $1800 and a Proenza Schouler shoulder bag is about $1100 from $2700. (We have pictures of a few other bags we saw on sale over here.)

At this point, the clothing selection holds the best shopping opportunities. A Balenciaga pleated skirt is $350 from $1150, a JW Anderson dress is $260 from $865 and a Balmain mini-dress is $1129 from $3765. The store still has a heathy selection of Prada, which you can see here. The award for the best leather pants of the season goes to Ben Taverniti Unravel Project and they are now $500 from $1700. We also found this Dolce & Gabbana floral print dress that's reduced 70% and comes to $899 from $3000.

This markdown is pretty awesome but we know that there are likely to be additional discount promotions. Just don't expect the better merchandise to stick around for too much longer. We can always hope for the treasures found in returns.

Gift Guide: What to Get the Spence Girl

New York private school girls are a most interesting specimen. They have more academic pressure than most first year law students but many are more entitled than a Goldman senior VP. To watch them in their natural habitat, one only needs to take a ride on the 79th Street crosstown bus.

Shopping for these girls is no easy task. The bar is high but taking a step off the deep end of restraint is easier than Serena van der Woodson. We feel lucky that Nordstrom has such an abundance of wonderful options. There is truly something for everyone. Below is a gift guide curated from Nordstrom that can satisfy the private school girl, from Brearley to Columbia Grammar & Prep.

Kate Spade grosgrain bow convertible knit mittens ($52)
Rainbow drop earrings ($50)
Prada phone wallet on a chain ($480)
Jeweled cat ear beanie ($28)

Bergdorf Goodman 60% Off: Inside 60+ Pics

Bergdorf Goodman started its second markdown just last week. Most designer clothing is 60% off and most shoes and bags are reduced 50%. With just a few days before Christmas, we couldn't help but wonder what treasures we could find in the store.

Starting off, on the main floor, we found a few tables of bags. Bright pink and blue Balenciaga City bags and totes are reduced 50%. The most attractive sale assortment is the Valentino bags, which can be found at the center of the main store.  A gorgeous, light blue, Rockstud Spike bag that's now $1600 from $3195. We also found a black Demilune bag that's $1300 from $1200. A Dries top handle bag is about $500 from $950 and mini Givenchy Horizon bags in blue and purple are about $1000 from $2000. (You can see pictures of more bags over this way.)

Moving upstairs to shoes, there is still a great assortment of Chanel, Dior and Louboutin shoes but they are both discounted 30% off still. Most other shoes are now reduced 50%. (See pictures over here.) Red velvet Louboutin heels are $586 from $695 and Dior lace mesh heels are $609 from $870. We even found small sizes of nude Louboutins in patent and flat leather. Among the more discounted shoes are Saint Laurent slingback with a rose flower that are about $1000 from $2000, No.21 satin and jeweled mules are $420 from $820 and Manolo velvet BBs are $490 from nearly $700.

A majority of the designer clothing can be found near the back of the third floor. Most everything is discounted 60%. A printed Prada puffer is $888 from $1720, a Delpozo top is $420 from $1050 and an Alexander McQueen two-tone knit dress is $900 from $2245. Click here to  see pictures of everything we mentioned and a lot more.

Take note, Bergdorf Goodman will offer an extra 25% off online sale items starting Christmas Day. Third markdown, which is up to 75% off will begin January 2. Stay Tuned.

Online Retailer's Holiday Shopping Deadlines

The holiday shopping season is quickly coming to a crescendo. Online shopping has changed the way we serve up holiday gift giving. Long gone are the days of rushing from store to store to chase the illusive size or color variation. The entire world of shopping is at our fingertips.

As a matter of fact, last week, we ordered an item from the Italian luxury site, Luisaviaroma. We couldn't believe that the order shipped the same day made it from Florence Italy to our NYC apartment in just over 24-hours. In addition, the items we purchased came wrapped in delicate tissue paper and tied in a pretty bow. The presentation and experience made a small purchase feel like a luxury experience.

Yoox, on the other hand, was a shipping disaster. We placed an order on Black Friday and it took over two weeks to arrive from Secaucus, NJ. During the extended shipping time, prices were reduced and the retailer refused to extend a price adjustment. Furthermore, the expensive items arrived crushed into a nondescript brown box.

Farfetch is another site that executes the online luxury shopping experience beautifully. Our orders came promptly and were presented with care. We were even more delighted with the 30€ gift card that accompanied our purchase.

You can always count on Net-A-Porter to offer solid customer service. The site is a dependable destination for the season's hottest items. We also love that they carry enough inventory that the site doesn't sell out too quickly.

For the kids, we placed lots of orders with AlexaandAlex. Shipping took longer than we expected but their customer service was wonderful. Unfortunately, our gifts were packed in a sealed bag instead of a box. That means you will need to transfer your purchases, organize and execute boxing and wrapping yourself.

Meljoe is another wonderful online destination for kid's gifts. Like, Luisaviaroma we received our items incredibly fast and our gifts came wrapped beautifully. The down side is that shipping was $12 and there aren't free returns. That means that exchanging a wrong size could mean almost $30 in shipping, which often isn't worth while.

We would love to hear about your online shopping experiences. Feel free to share stories about retailers doing it right those who are stumbling. Speaking of online shipping and shipping, below is your guide to getting your gift there on time and costs from various online retailers:

Shipping: Free three day shipping

Au Revoir Colette: 1997-2017

It pains me greatly to be writing this post. I remember one of my first trips to Colette while I was in high school. Everything was so 'trés chic' or 'bien cool'-- as the cool kids would say in Paris.

My first purchase was a pair of Karl Lagerfeld platform shoes. Like many of the items at Colette, there was nothing remotely like them in New York. Those shoes were the begging of a long love affair with Karl, Paris and shopping. Up until last year, every trip to Paris required a stop at Colette.

Things have changed. Fashion has become global. The world of shopping is now at your fingertips. Hence, Colette is closing. The famous Parisan store will close it's doors on Wednesday. Throngs of fans waited outside 213 rue Saint-Honoré to experience the last days of shopping.

Unserpisingly, there are many great final collaborations that we couldn't resist shopping Colette one final time either. Some fashion highlights include this Baccarat x Saint Laurent x Colette heart that's 205€, a Club 75 x Colette sweatshirt is 75€ and this KITH x Moncler jacket is 985€.

Unfortunately, all the sale items are already sold out. We suggest you snag a piece of history now. After all: Toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin. (All good things must come to an end.) Au Revior Colette...Merci.

Wearhouse Valentino Clearance Sale: Pictures

It's holiday party season and dressing in another mass retail's designer imposter just isn't the way to kick off the new year. It's time to celebrate and let the real you shine through. Nothing can substitute for being genuine inside and out.

When we are looking for iconic designer pieces without spending all of our future 2018 earnings, we head to Wearhouse, in Great Neck, LI. Wearhouse is a massive retail space that is essentially an designer outlet with all the furnishings of a high-end boutique. There are helpful sales people and even a tailor on premises. This is the place you go to find real couture pieces for elaborate events, a demure cocktail dresses, polished work attire and even some elevated casual wear. (Click for pics.)

There will also be assorted shoes, bags and accessories from the same designers, discounted 70% off too. (You can see pictures over here.)

We suggest you take inventory of your 2018 social and travel calendar, and plan accordingly. Who wouldn't rather spend $300 on real Naeem Khan than something Chloe-ish? Keep an eye out for a great selection of coats, which we find nearly irresistible. After all, you can wear anything under a coat and still look New York amazing.

Weekend Shopping: Finding the Best Discount

We only have a few days of shopping before Christmas. Friday is actually the last day of ground shipping for most retailers. Almost all of our favorite stores have taken a second markdown but discounts vary vastly.

One would expect to universally save 60% off women's clothing but Saks is a little tricky this season. There, designer clothing is reduced 30% to 60% off. The more popular the brand, the lower the Saks discount.

Below is a comparison chart of Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. As usual, Barneys is the clear winner across the board. The next and final markdown usually happens mid-January.

Here is your cheat sheet:

French Connection Clearance Sale, On Sale

When you're so busy shopping for other's, it's hard to indulge yourself. Look no further than French Connection if you're interested in a little self-spoiling without compromising your gift list. Right now, you can save an extra 40% off already reduced merchandise. Just use the code FCE40S to engage the promotion.

Over this way, we found a  a full leather biker jacket that comes to just $250 from $598. We've seen synthetic leather jackets that cost twice as much as the original price. Over here is a long cardigan with luxe faux fur sleeves that comes to $84 from $188 and this checked coat is as stylish as can be and comes to $180 from $428.

Beyond stylish basics, French Connection is a great place to pick up something sparkly and festive for the holiday season. The extra 40% off gives you even more reason to celebrate. Check out this high-neck sequined dress that is $120 from $328, this LBD can be accessorized with almost anything and it's $84 from almost $200 or you can go with a draped jumpsuit that is also $84 from $200.

This promotion only runs through Christmas. We suggest you browse through. Sizes will start to run out quickly.

Second Markdown Alert: Net A Porter

'Tis the season of markdowns and shopping. Net-A-Porter started their second markdown this morning. The online luxury retailer has reduced prices up to 70% off and many popular style bags and fashion are still in stock.

Among the bag selection, we found lots of popular styles discounted 40% to 50% off. This JW Anderson Pierce bag is reduced to $1200 from $2200. This Mark Cross mini box bag is also discounted 50%, and is $1100 from $2200. One of our favorite bags, the Prada ribbon bag, tat is now discounted 40%. This style style never made it to the sale rack at boutiques, which means it will fly off the racks at this price. We also like the Half-Moon from Victoria Beckham is $860 from $1430.

The discounts on shoes range from 40% to 70% off, with most styles getting the 60% markdown treatment. Among the most heavily reduced shoes are Francesco Russo flared pumps that are $290 from $970 and Alexa Chung embroidered velvet boots are $170 from $555. Other well-discounted shoe options include, Burberry patent and knit ankle boots that are $270 from $800. Those Off-White silver ankle boots we've been watching all season are now $475 from $1200.

The clothing options that are discounted 70% off seem infinite. From an oversized Moschino knit cardigan that's $219 to a Ronald Van Der Kemp's patchwork sweater that's $550 from $1830. A Roksanda blouse is quite striking, and is $300 from nearly $1000. We even found this Proenze jacket that we've been spying and it's now 70% off.

There is nothing warmer than a Prada down jacket and this belted style is reduced 50%. A short version is just $580. We also spotted the hottest coat of the season, Balenciaga's oversized Outerspace jacket (in powder blue). It's reduced 40%.

The new markdowns just launched this morning but we already see items low in stock and selling out. We suggest you pile up that cart and edit before you're done.

375PopUp: Discounted Chanel, Gucci. Balenciaga, Dior & More

When shopping for discounted designer merchandise, you're almost always looking at items that are several seasons old. This is not the case at our favorite mid-town pop-up store. 375PopUp (rebranded from last year's Luxury 9) has this season's most coveted and rare fashion items at steeply reduced prices.

The store will only be open through Christmas and you're not going to miss this opportunity. During our last visit, we found an assortment of Gucci slides. Leather styles are $550 and fur embellished versions are $650. The sale also has a selection of classic Chanel ballet flats for $550 and Dior J'Adior flats and kitten heels that are 20% off. There are also plenty of Louboutin and Fendi shoes and boots that are 60% off. (You can click here for pictures.)

The bag selection is as impressive as the shoes. Barney's only got eight Balenciaga Graffiti City bags this season. We've been told that the waiting list accumulated to more than 250 people. 375Pop-up has several of these impossible-to-get bags and is discounting them 20% off retail. The store has current season Dior bags, including the Lady Dior, Dioramas, Diorever and J'Adior are all 20% off retail.  Ferragamo bags are 65% to 70% off and Louboutin bags are 70% off retail.

375PopUp also has an insane selection of luxury street wear from brands like Off-White, Palm Angles, Fear of God, Amiri, Marcelo Burlon and Unravel. There are some racks specifically for women but the best selection is unisex. To be honest, if you need a holiday gift for a teenage boy-- this is the place to grab some swag that will send his brain spinning. (We have pictures over here.)

While shopping, we happened upon a small assortment of coats from Mr & Mrs. Italy that are reduced 50% off retail. There are also some specialty limited edition items like Moncler x Off-White. Straight Moncler down jackets and coats are at least 45% off retail.

We are told that 375Pop-up will be closing after Christmas.  Don't hesitate too long.

After you're done shopping, be sure to snag a Diptyque candle on the way out -- they are 35% off. You'll want to remember the sweet smell of a great discount.

Bergdorf Goodman's Discount Hits 60% Off

Bergdrof Goodman started their second markdown today. The discounts range up to 60% off. Many handbag styles and shoes are now discounted 50% and most designer clothing is 60% off.

This sale is coming much earlier than usual and we are particularly pleased with the assortment that's still available. Over this way, we found this Valentino small chevron suede Demilune that is reduced to $2500 from about $5000, an Anya Hindmarch convertible bag is about $1000 from $2000 and a Balenciage striped bazar shopper is $925 from over $1800.

The shoe department is still stocked with great options. We love these velvet Miu Miu heels with the oversized jeweled buckle. They are now about $500 from $990. Prada short velvet boots are $440 from $875, Saint Laurent smoking slippers are $400 from $800, Stuart Weitzman rabbit slides are $390 from $775 and metallic Off-White ankle boots are $640 from $1280.

We will be sure to follow up this post with pictures from within the store. For now, we'll continue sorting and browsing to find the best online markdowns.

Manolo Blahnik's First Markdown

For as long as we can remember, we have celebrated the New Year with Manolo Blahnik's first markdown. This week, the luxury footwear brand broke with tradition and started its seasonal boutique markdown, on Monday.

Currently, shoes and boots from the winter collection are discounted to 40% off. This markdown should not cause too much excitement considering that department stores are discounted 50% to 60% off.

Barneys Second Markdown Begins

Barneys has been boasting the best markdowns in town on clothing, shoes and handbags. To maintain its competitive edge the store started it's second markdown today.

At this point in sale season, we tend to prefer shopping online for serious shopping. It's just too frustrating to go to a store and find that your size is sold out. We found this Alaia tote that comes to $1400 from over $3300. That's pretty close to 60% off! A Fendi pom-pom style bag is about $1000 from $2150, an Anya Hindmarch bag is $550 from $1345.

The online shoe selection is even better. We are in love with these Alchimia di Ballin high boots that now comes to under $550 from $1300. The heel hight makes them NYC wearable and the architectural detail makes them visually interesting. Ditto goes for these Margiela fold-over boots that are $700 from about $1700. Mules from The Row are about $500 from $1200, which is similar to sample sale pricing! Oh, and these Dries Van Norten velvet boots are my absolute favorites. (Ohhh, yes, I did!)

The clothing discounts are just as good. Here is an oversized Acne brushed cashmere belted coat for $550 from $1300 and a Prada jacket with a fur collar is $1100 from from $2700.

We don't know how long this promotion will last but the official second markdown should happen next week. We expend that the next markdown will be 50% off shoe sand 60% off clothing. The difference is marginal.

Details: Christian Louboutin Sample Sale

Ladies, have you been naughty or nice?

Check your inboxes to find out. Christian Louboutin sent their best friends invitations to its exclusive sample sale. That's right, the sale that everyone loves to hate starts on Tuesday. Remember, the security is tight and there's a clear mean-girls hierarchy to who gets invited to shop first.

The most important Louboutin insiders-- glossy magazine editors and celebrities-- are known to be invited to begin shopping by appointment on the first few days. The sale extends all week as the invited guest list expands to allow general press and "friends and family."

Last season, prices started at just $200 but most styles were priced in the $300-range. The most expensive style shoes were $1000. A majority of the heels and studded variety pumps were priced between $300 and $400. For example, studded kitten heels was $300 and $2300 studded knee high boots were just $600.

If you have an invite (or if you're considering door-busting this sale), we suggest that you start your day early.  Last year, shoppers reported more than 50 people in line by 7:00am.  Be prepared to stand on line, outside, for at least two hours. You will be asked to provide ID when checking in. There is a five pair limit for each shopper.

Those who weren't invited to the sale can now save 40% at Christian Louboutin boutiques, Saks NYC and Barneys. It appears as if all authorized online retailers have removed Louboutin sale styles. Fear not, we found some other-- less obvious-- options to shop for red bottoms online. Use the above scroll to see what we found.

Before you head to the store, you can browse the in-store sale section in this post. Follow along on Instagram to get up-to-the minute updates.

As temperatures are dipping the Annabelle Fur sample sale is heating up. We stocked up on pom-pom hats that start just $25. Fur lined denim jackets and fur lined parkas are also a big hit, in addition to the company's normal luxe furs that are all discounted at least 50% off retail.

Pictures from inside the sale are right here.

We fell in love with a gorgeous slate blue mink coat with removable cashmere arms. We also spotted down coats, which rival the highest quality luxury versions and they are priced under wholesale. Couldn't imagine a more chic way to fight the winter beast.

Gift Guide: What To Buy Other People

Let's be honest, the best part of the holiday season is buying indulgent things for yourself! Still, there are others who need to be recognized and shown some gifting love. Presenting a truly thoughtful gift is thrilling and gratifying. Finding that special gift, however, can be arduous and strenuous.

We are so thankful that Nordstrom offers such a great selection of thoughtful gift items. We love Kate Spade's adorable collection of winter hats, especially this winky beanie. This Gucci Marmont cross body bag will thrill even the fanciest girl. It's under $1000, so it won't completely deplete the holiday gifting coffers. The Gucci Marmont belt will be equally appreciated and will set you back half the amount of the bag, which means you'll have more money for yourself.

Check out this travel vanity case ($219), which is perfect for the beauty junky- jetsetter. We just wonder if it would be considered a carry-on or a 'personal item.' Speaking of jet set, a new Ramowa ($695) is always a crowd pleaser.

This season, we have been spying for great jewelry finds. We love this simple 14k gold zig-zag stacking ring that's just $150. A similar style vertical heart pendant is just $220.

If you're still stumped, check out Nordstrom's MoMA Design Store. We love this lucite yellow-pink vase $179 and this LED heart light ($69) could brighten anyone's day and is the perfect punctuation for a child's room.

As always, online shoppers should take advantage of Nordstrom's great customer service, which features free shipping and free returns. If only all stores were as easy to shop as Nordstrom.

Spying Saks Shoe Sale (Pics, Pics, Pics)

The tree is 'lit' and Rock Center is in full Christmas mode. Who could object to a stroll down 5th and over to Saks Fifth Avenue?

It's not quite second markdown time but we couldn't help from taking inventory of all the nice and naughty shoes on sale.  As usual, the sale shoes are displayed on racks according to size. It tends to get a little messy during sale season but the racks seemed more organized than usual.

While browsing, we found thigh-high Balenciaga stretch boots in velvet that are $976 from $1400 and pink knife boots that are $567 from $945. There is a large variety of Manolo Hangisi heels in assorted colors. We were most surprised by the Gucci selection that's still available. Rainbow platform sneakers are $597 from #995, wedge snake sandals are $540 from $900 and Gucci ghost slip-on sneakers are $350 from $580. There are dozens of pictures from the store right this way.

Christian Louboutin shoes are also discounted 40%. A full assortment of pics are here. On the way out, we spotted piled boxes of Vetements x Manolo but they haven't been added to the sale section. Considering how many pairs are still left, we wouldn't be surprised if they hit the racks soon.

The next 'hard' markdown won't be until after Christmas, when the shoe discount will hit 50% off. We expect that there will be a 20% off discount promotion, which will give shoppers a bit of a Christmas second markdown presale opportunity.
