Manolo's Biggest Markdown of the Year

Monday is the start of the Manolo Blahnik super semi-annual sale. Usually the sale runs for just four days, but this year it's scheduled to run for more than two weeks or through Thursday, August 3. The extra long sale schedule is a clue that the selection will be much larger than usual. It's the perfect opportunity to stock up on classic and ornate shoes from the spring and summer collection at up to 75% off.

Styles are from the exclusive boutique collection and include some alligator. Prices are always marked by sticker dots, which usually range from $195 for a red dot up to $450 for a green dot. Most shoes and low boots-- even highly ornate styles-- are priced at $250. At the last sale, we only found one pair of shoes marked for $195.

The selection of current season “IT” shoes is much better at this boutique sale than at the sample sale or the department stores. Then there's always the increased enjoyment of shopping in the beautiful and wonderfully civilized atmosphere. Last season we attended the final markdown and there was no line. You can click here to see all the details from last season's final markdown.

The store can get crowded but at least there isn't usually a long line to get in. For those who can't make it to mid-town this July, We pulled a few online sales that offer similar pricing. If you're planning on going to the boutique, we suggest trying to attend towards the beginning of the sale week. There is usually no restocking. Styles and sizes always run low quickly.

I came back from the store a while ago. The inventory was pretty divers, with quite a number of styles with blue sticker ($175+tax), which is not always the case.
As it happens very often, there was a person (i.e., reseller/non-respective Manolo fan) hording display shoes in two big bags and I guess just buying all of them in all sizes. When I left around 11:15am, half of the display items were gone! I wish sale people would control this kind of behavior...
Does anyone know whether there will be any restocking, since the sale is about to run for two weeks?

Thank you so much for the updates. I'm not sure Manolo minds very much. I think their end goal is to sell shoes.

That being said, it's surprising that the selection was poor. A two week sale is very long. I will try and reach out to see if there are any plans for them to restock. I doubt they will comment...

Actually, selection was quite big, with key word being "was" :) They had all the sizes, including various in 34.5 and 42, with very decent representation of 36-37-38.
Btw, the rain was terrible this morning, so the line was not bad at all. They also mentioned 20 minutes limit for shopping, but they don't really enforce it.

I can say that a gentleman was there saying he only had $15k on his card. I believe he was buying to resell as his partner in crime was taking pictures and texting them. Then they were speaking in a foreign language about what shoes they wanted the sales team to pull for them. They did not try anything on. I asked a sales girl about it and basically they want to get rid of inventory and can't police who resells online

That being said it was the calmest ( at 5pm) time in the store for a first day of last markdown.

I think since there was a lot of shoes not on sale many of the displays were not where they should be as every time I turned around I saw shoes I had not seen before.

Def worth a trip . So many at the lower price points, much more than in the past . Lots of sizes even for 42!
