Inside the Oscar de la Renta Sample Sale

Pamplona is famous for the Running of the Bulls and the Oscar de la Renta sale has become legendary for the running of the gowns. Today's sample sale VIP kickoff was more intense than ever but the volume of options wasn't even Emmy worthy.

To begin, three woman sprinted into the sale and one lady directed the others, "Don't look just grab." Another woman pulled so many dresses from the racks that she couldn't even carry them all. Instead she dragged them along the floor like a janitor pulling an old mop across an elementary school cafeteria.

One could argue that these women had a good strategy as this sale has much less merchandise than prior season sales. Usually the downstairs is filled with shoes and bridal gowns. This go-round, the downstairs level is occupied by a giant dressing room and there are only a few racks of bridal gowns.

Upstairs you will find almost all designer's categories but just less volume. There are dresses, gowns, coats, day-wear, skirts, furs, jewelry, belts, bags, shoes, kids clothing, kids shoes and furs. Most items are priced between 70% and 90% off retail. Samples, which can be identified by an internal sample tag, are priced according to a master list. (You can see the price sample lists in the jump.) All other items are priced as marked.

Some of the standouts include an ombrΓ© tulle gown for $1650 from nearly $15,000. A one shoulder gown with silk lace and tonal bead embroidery tracing every edge is also $1650 from $18,290. Rose Leslie wore it to the season 8 premier of Game of Thrones premier. A less opulent leaf motif dress is $875 from about $6000. Clearly, the savings on dresses and gowns are substantial. (You can see pictures here.)

Over towards the checkout counter, you'll see an assortment of jewelry and belts. Most are priced at about 80% off retail. These flower drop earrings in assorted colors are $65 from $350 and there are bins of great belts all priced at $40. Classic ODLR floral "Tro" bags are $537 from $1790. (We have pictures and prices over here.)

Most all Children's shoes that are all priced at $41. Last year, they were $20 but you can't really complain even at $40. Some have original price stickers of more than $250. The children's clothing assortment isn't very  plentiful. Most samples are a size six.

The ODLR sale is one of those popular events that tend to attract lots of shoppers, which tend to accumulate into a steady line throughout the days of the sale. It's not usually too bad of a wait but you should clock in some extra time if you're thinking of taking a quick pass through the sale.

Farfetch 15% Off Full Price Designer

Farfetch is the most recent retailer to begin an early season discount promotions. Using this link and the code 19MID will afford you a savings of 15% off a wide selection of merchandise. The code does not apply to all designers and it's been a big guessing game trying to figure out what's included.

We've tried to eliminate hours of disappointment and guess work. Bottega Veneta is not included. Gucci is not included. Saint Laurent is not included. Balenciaga is not included. Valentino is not included.

So what can you use the code for? You can save on Off-White, Prada, Golden Goose, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and most everything else. You can identify an eligible item once you click on the detail page.

It's best to use these slight discounts for items you need right away or for products that can potentially sell out in your size. This is sometimes the case when you have a difficult shoe size or if an item is in high demand.

Some worthy uses of the code can be for these Amina Muaddi Begum boots that will not stay in stock through sale season. Paris Texas snake-print high boots are already pretty affordable at $560 and the 15% off makes them a very palatable purchase. Maybe you want to gift yourself a classic Loewe bag that doesn't go on sale or maybe you want to grab one of those Jacquemus tiny bags while they are still Instagram worthy?

You shouldn't have to look too hard to find what you've already desire. Be forewarned: There is no expiration on this code, so the extra savings can go away at any moment.

LN-CC: New Season Moncler and Gucci Discounts

We have noticed that a few retailers have initiated early discount promotions. The savings might not be large but the incentives are good at driving early season savings. The downside is that most of these shopping promotions exclude major designers.

It only was a matter of time until we hit the designer jackpot. European luxury emporium, LN-CC is actually focusing on just the items we really want. We received a code that will allow you to save 15% off on a top selection of merchandise. Just use this link and the code special15ln at checkout to engage the savings.

You must use this link to view the eligible items. We are most excited by the bag selection. You can save nearly $450 off this Gucci leather shoulder bag, about $300 off this see-through Fendi shopper to $260 off this Valentino Candystud bag.

Among the other eligible items are thes include these classic Gucci loafers and this oversized Gucci belt. Don't miss the Moncler-Palm Angles collaboration items and these Gucci tees.

The code will be active until September 23 and LN-CC offers free shipping and free returns on most purchasers.

Barneys Gift Card Promotion

Not sure where to get the best bang for your full price dollar? We suggest you head to Barneys.

Through Monday, Barneys shoppers can earn a $25 gift card for every $250 you spend. Purchases over $500 will get you even more. Accrued gift cards are redeemable for merchandise from September 2 through October 16.

There aren't any exclusions listed even though Louboutin, Chanel and Celine are usually on the do-not-apply list. Either way, that leaves lots of the prime fall fashion from which to choose (or shoes.) Gucci, Fendi, and Dior are included in the promotion. We would suggest going for a Bottega tote, a Gianvitto Rossi bi-color mules, a CDG tee or Prada thunder heels.

The 'Infinity' promotion is available (what remains of) Barneys stores , on the website and at BarneysWarehouse. Be warned, however, Barneys will most likely not extend the dates if the cards aren't used during the specified window of time. So be sure to enjoy your meal at Fred's and go back next week to use those gift cards!

MatchesFashion Extra 20% Off

Online luxury retailers are feeling the pressure to close out anything left from prior seasons and MatchesFashion is the most recent site to add a little promotion to their sale selection. Starting today, you can save an additional 20% off past season merchandise, which has already been reduced up to 70% off. Use code EXTRA20 at checkout to engage the additional savings.

We found these tall YSL brown suede boots that come to $720 from $1800 and they are still available in several sizes. The Bolide shape Balenciaga bag  rings up at $1200 from $2150, and this Givenchy GV3 is $1600 from $3000.

The brand Hunting Season has been trending and adding this pouch won't take too much of an investment as it just $320 from $771. You might be able to justify the price of this Balmain logo dress at $610 from $1885 and this coat from The Row is classic and is even less expensive than the sample sale at $1450 from $6000. It's also one of those pieces you can keep for life!

The most reduced items are from prior seasons but classics stand the test of time. There is really a good selection from which to shop. Just be mindful that the extra discount deems these items final sale.

Shopping; Obsessions & Impulses

Fashion week is in full swing and we can't help but scroll through sale sections looking to replicate the styles we see on the runways. Frankly, it's nice to do something productive while Uber-ing between shows.

LuisaViaRoma is hosting a deal where you can take an extra 25% off sale merchandise with the code EX25. Don't miss Le Monde Beryl mules that come to $180 from $480, Prada rainboots for $375 from $1250 and Alexander Birman sandals are $175 from $416. With prices like that you can skip the sample sale.

Through Tuesday, you can save Neiman Marcus Last Call  is offering $100 off every $200 spent. That effectively translates to 50% off. Use the code SAVENOW at checkout. I found Roger Vivier flats that come to $428 from $1375, a JW Anderson drawstring bag is $365 from $1330, and an Edie Parker 'Pop' bag is $350 from $1300.

Below is a list of some of the most noteworthy items I found. Keep checking back and I will add more, which is sure to happen. Hello, Bottega Veneta belt!

The IT-It: Amina Muaddi Back in Stock

The designer shoe floor has become increasingly more congested. Not so long ago, designer shoes were limited to a small area of any store and represented the biggest fashion houses and a small assortment of legacy brands like Manolo Blahnik and Todds. Today, footwear is one of the largest grossing departments in any retail environment and spans the largest 'footprint.'

Amina Muaddi is the newest designer with ambitions of winning over shoe customers. Splitting her childhood between Jordan and Romania and then continuing her education n Italy, Amina was able to achieve a unique design approach to shoes and started her own brand in 2018.

Her shoes fuse a sense of opulence with timeless glamour. A particular emphasis is placed on the construction of her pieces and most designs are hand-made. Amina believes the last and the heel to be two most crucial elements to ensure the best quality shoe.

In a little over a year, Amina she has accomplished creating such a buzz that finding her shoes has been a challenge. We noticed that her pre-fall collection hit stores over the weekend and various styles are currently available but are going fast.

Intermix, Mytheresa, LuisaViaRoma and MatchesFashion currently have limited availability for preorders on the hand-made shoes. Our favorite styles include the designer's distinctive geometric pedestal heel. We are crazy for these rainbow Begum slingbacks and the newest ankle boots with a lucite heel.

We suggest you make a quick decision if Amina Muaddi heels attract your fancy. The last season's collection disappeared fairly quickly and the designer's fan base is exploding, which is a recipe for a quick sell-out.

5 Must-Haves for NYFW

New York Fashion Week has officially started. Over the past several years, the fashion on the street has become even more important than than what is shown on the runway. Street style sets the tone for the entire season. What's hot at fashion week usually becomes must-haves through the holiday season.

In honor of NYFW, we are listing the five hottest items of the pre-season. Some aren't even officially available and others are sold out. If you can get your hands on any of these items we suggest you do so asap. The buzz is only going gain in momentum as all your favorite influencers flex their most swagy fashions.

1. Louis Vuitton Multi-Pochette (M44813) $1550
You might have seen this concoction of bags already popping up on the Instagram feed on some of your most influential style gurus. The "bag" is essentially comprised of three bags-- a micro pouchette, a larger pouchette and a round change purse. They are connected together by a chain and a fabric strap to create a utility cross-body type-bag. Fabric straps can be purchased separately for $495 each. The bag was slated to launch on September 1 but has been pushed off until September 27. This is the type of item we suggest preordering immediately if you intend on adding it to your collection.

2. The Bottega Veneta Pouch $2400
Writing about this bag again is starting to feel redundant but the fad is just beginning. We've already seen people collecting multiple colors of this clutch. White has been the hardest color to get and it's available RIGHT NOW. The white version been especially popular because it resembles a cloud and looks dreamy when clutched under the arm.  We expect to see lots of the the new metallic colors during fashion week. You can click here to grab yours now and a limited edition red was just launched today too,

3. Bottega Veneta Stretch Sandals $720
What's harder to get than a white Bottega Pouch? Stretch sandals! They seem to have launched but have never been accessible. You just can't get these sandals unless your very well connected. We wish we had some advice but we are baffled. As an alternative, we suggest that mortals pre-order the Padded Bloc Pumps as they can be worn for the following eight months. They are also poised to be a big sell-out.

4. Valentino VSling $2575
The tone-on-tone matte is a toned down version of logo-mania. It looks fresh and cool. Almost like a matte Porsche Panamera. The bag is starting to catch the attention of fashion participants but it hasn't trickled into the mainstream. What's even better is that the bag hasn't been all over Instagram, which makes you the ultimate influencer.

5. Amina Muaddi Belgum Brooch Pump $895
The shoe brand d'jour is Amina Mauddio. If you haven't heard of it, now you have. Amina Muaddi is best known for its vibrant colors and holographic designs. We like them because of heel's distinctive geometric pedestal. Our favorite style has a jeweled toe. We are torn between black, aqua or pink but would take any if we could find them. They are sold out at most everywhere. We could only find size 5s but we will continue to keep our eyes open.

Saks Fifth Avenue: Save Now Promotion

We have become all too familiar with department stores' gift card shopping incentives. You spend as much as you can for the opportunity to receive a gift card for a later purchase. More often than not, you get your gift card and think that you're going to save it to buy something special. By the time you commit to the purchase, the gift card is expired. It's all very disappointing.

Good thing, Saks Fifth Avenue is offering a promotion that doesn't require to use a gift card at a future date. Depending on how much money you spend, you can save money off your purchase right now. The promotion is only available online. Use the code FORMESF at checkout to engage the savings.

The breakdown is:
Spend $250, save $50
Spend $450, save $100
Spend $700, save $175
Spend $1000, save $250

In the past, there were nearly no restrictions on this promotion but this season. This go-round we had to search for brands that are included. (You know it's going to take some serious looking when even Michael Kors opts out.) The most attractive designer options include Balmain, Gianvitto Rossi, Manolo Blahnik, Aviator Nation, Rachel Comey, and some various others.

You can go for this Balmain blazer and save $500 from the full price of $2100. This Rachel Comey puff sleeve top will come to $325 from $425 if you throw in a package of hair ties. These lace Manolo "Hangisiflala" flats are beyond gorgeous and discounted $250 with the promo.

While you're browsing, don't miss the sale merchandise. We found these Gianvitto Rossi mules for $193 from $645, The Row low boot for $476 from $1200 and  Moncler rain boots $223 from $425. Take note, the promotional savings can't be applied towards sale merchandise.

The code is valid through Friday. The next Saks promotion is one of those tricky gift cards.

September Sample Sales πŸŒΎπŸƒπŸŒ»

It's hard to believe that Summer is already over. Normally, September is a dead month for sample sales but there appears to be a blooming calendar this season. We aren't sure if the proliferation of September sales is a sign of a shifting economy or the expanding sample sale business but only time will tell.

We've exclusively listed the sample sales that we think are worthy of your time and effort. These are only sales we explicitly endorse. The post will continue to be updated throughout the month. Italist Begins November-Type Markdowns

We all wait eagerly forward to November's first markdowns but how exciting would it be if you could get similar discounts today? Italist has already started to chisel away at prices on Fall '19 merchandise. The additional savings on top of the currency difference adds to some big savings. You might even go as far as saying it's as good as first markdown.

Take a look at this new Gucci Marmont style. It's currently $2200 at Bergdorf Goodman but it's priced at under $1500 on Italist. The Gucci Dionysus tweed bag is priced at $2500 at Bergdorfs and under $1500 on Italist.  Some other interesting standouts include the Fendi perforated Kan U for $1630 from a US retail of $2390, A Valentino medium size Rockstud tote is $1480 from a US retail of $2400 and the Celine small 16 is $2533 compared to $4100 at Celine in the US.

There aren't just great bags. Balenciaga Triple S sneakers are $680 from US retail of $895, Gucci tweed hiking boots are $882 from a US retail of $1190 and Bottega Veneta pumps are $550 from $760 in the US.

Italist's prices may not seem so discounted when you are looking at the site straight on. We suggest you do a search on Net-A-Porter or Neiman Marcus to get an accurate retail price. We don't need to wait until November to pull the trigger. We can start enjoying now.

Weekend Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses Labor Day Edition

ATTENTION: Bottega Veneta Pouches were restocked and white and various other colors are now available. Click here. We just found a fresh launch of red, which we've never seen. Click here for red.

There are only a couple beach days left before the unofficial end of Summer. It's just about time to put down the White Claw and it's not a moment too soon because that stuff is actually disgusting. I  would love to say that I'm still hunting for ultra reduced bikinis and sandals but I've had my fill. We are now turning our attention towards transitional items that get us excited for a new fashion season.

The most fashion forward are clamoring for Bottega's Pouch and we just found the nude back in stock. More price conscious shoppers are grabbing the Mansur Gavriel look-alike version that's $400 or about 80% less expensive. The fashion dupe is already sold out at Bergedorf Goodman and isn't expected to be restocked until December.  You can still snag one from Ssense in black or pink. (Now sold out.) Don't wait until everyone gets back from extended vacation-- those will be gone too.

If you need a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes, Century 21 has a selection discounted between 40% and 50% off. We also spotted some items from the Dior x Kaws collaboratiuon discounted 60% off.  There is also a small selection of classic Off-White sweatshirts for 60% off.

I also found myself tolling Fashionphile. It's not officially a sale but site stalkers will notice a slew of  new markdowns. Here is a new Givenchy mini GV3 for about $800, this Louis Vuitton Giant Logo pouch is reduced to $765 and an Hermes pouch is $245.

Below is a list of some of the most noteworthy items I found. Keep checking back and I will add more. (P.S. The Fashionphile pics aren't working. You can use the links above):

MyTheresa Extra Discounts

The Labor Day promotions are beginning to roll in and even European sites are trying to get a piece of the action. Today, MyTheresa started a shopping incentive where reduced merchandise is an extra 30% off. You can add the code FREEDEL for free shipping.

MyTheresa isn't known for their dramatic markdowns but they always have a great assortment. The additional discount brings many items down to about 50% off and there are lots of great options for Fall.

Picking up from where we left off with trends last season, there is a huge assortment of Balenciaga shoes, bags and clothing. This Balenciaga logo sweater is $450 from $1290 and Speed Trainers are about $500 from $770. Saint Laurent Nikki ankle boots are $535 from nearly $1100, a Valentino mini-tote is about $1300 from $1950, Loewe shoes are $280 from $785, and a Versace dress is $670 from $1600. There are also a lot of great Prada pieces. This dress is $430 from $1230, a Prada tote is $518 from $1058 and a banana sweater is $285 from $680.

For those who have been on the prowl, MyTheresa has the Bottega Tote that seems to gaining Instagram fame. There are also some Pouch options, including black.

The promotion ends August 30th. Don't be discouraged if an item isn't as reduced as you would like. Just put it in your shopping cart and wait. Sometimes stalking is more fun than the shopping.

Farfetch: Extra 30% Off Sale

We've hit that point of the Summer that we couldn't even consider another white gossamer dress -- regardless of price. Summer shopping is kind of over but we fully condone taking a discount opportunity to start Fall shopping.

Farfetch just started an incentive where you can save an additional 30% off already reduced merchandise. You can use the code FX30 to engage the discount.

Daniel Lee's new Bottega Veneta is turning out to be the biggest trend for the coming season. We wouldn't exactly mind a new intrecciato bag. Here is a classic style that's now about $2000 from $3700 and here is a smaller style that's $1260 from $2260. This JW Anderson classic black bag is only $600 from $1700 and this Jil Sander bag is $2080 from $4878.

Shoes are a little more difficult to nail down because of reduced sizing options. Her his a pair of emerald green slingbacks from No.21 that are $228 from $1247, Alchimia Di Ballin booties are $191 from $900 and Balenciaga houndstooth booties are $725 from $2270.

Among the clothing is this Rosie Assoulin dress that comes to $411 from over $1900. (You can pair it with a denim jacket and it's Fall appropriate.) Speaking of which, this dip-dyed denim jacket is $90 from $417. This Josie Natori embroidered denim trench is a very special piece and is priced at $450 from $2426.

There is really a a huge assortment of items in the sale section. It takes time to scroll but you have some time. The promotion runs through September 9.

Bandier just started a sale where reduced merchandise is discounted an extra 50% off. Weekend Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses

It's hard to get excited about any shopping considering all of our attention is focused on soaking in the last days of Summer. I really try to direct my attention towards the kids and create memories that will withstand a decade of time.

That doesn't nullify the need for a relaxing scroll.  Right now,  you will still be able to find a few interesting items within the sale assortment at Saks Fifth Avenue. The discounts are up to 75% off. Revolve also has some major markdowns upwards of 70% off. Intermix recently added some late Summer arrivals to its sale section too.

This week, I'm most excited about finding a replacement for Drybar's discontinued sparkle hairspray It's taken me weeks of testing and trying assorted products but this Unicorn hairspray ($16) offers the perfect sparkle mist to add extra glow to the golden hour or any other hour of the day or night.

Below is a compilation of a few of my favorite items that I've purchased, carted or agonized over. I will be sure to update this post as I scroll uncover more impulse purchases.

The IT-It: Plaid

As much as we hate to see Summer winding down, it's always smart to stay ahead of fashion's biggest trends. We are excited to bring on the browns, the sweaters, and slip-on an extra layer--perhaps in the form of a plaid?

Credit: Trendfriend

Plaid is a signature of 90s grunge culture, which has been pushing hard into all pockets of 2019 lifestyles. Plaid suiting and mashed-up separates are already hard-hitting in the street style world and are sure to capture the attention of photographers lenses during this upcoming fashion week.

Burberry, Brock Collection, and Monse offer classic schoolgirls plaid options, which is perfect hitting study hall. Personally, we prefer the cooler mashups offered by Preen by Thornton Begrazzi, which mixes plaids, tartans, and checks.

Take the liberty to mix checks, Madras, gingham and windowpane to your heart's desire. It gives you a kind of preppy appearance, plus there is a kind of mannish touch that feels like couture Lumberjack. If all else fails, grab a flannel and you can brag about conquering this timeless trend with almost no effort at all.

Sephora End-Of-Summer Sale

Most people are surprised at my low-key beauty regimen. (If you ever want to call it that.) I'm especially au natural during the Summer when I refuse to compromise my beach time for a manicure. Short nails and sunscreen are all I need.

Coming into Fall that will all change. Without a tan I'm sure to head back to the old routine of concealer, foundation, blush, mascara ...blah...blah...blah. Sephora's current promotion is the ideal time to stock up on everything I know I'll need for Fall. Shoppers can use the code SUMMERSAVE to engage a discount of 15% off.

The promotion begins Tuesday and runs through August 27. I've listed all my favorite beauty items below. In blogger talk that translates to mean the I actually buy myself.

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (5.75 $60)

Dior Diorshow Mascara (Black $29.50

YSL Rouge VoluptΓ© Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick (Smoking Plum $38)

Pat Mcgrath LuxeTrance Lipstick (Donnatella $40)

Totokaelo Finds at 70% Off

Online shopping has taken over such a large part of our retail experience that there are close-by stores that I have only experienced online. For example, Totokaelo, which is known for it's 'new wave fashion' is in prime Soho territory but I've only shopped the store online.

For lack of a better analogy, I'm happy with our online romance and wouldn't want to jeopardize the relationship by meeting in person. The exclusively virtual experience works well because I trust the quality and value of the merchandise.

Considering the big discounts, you might want to investigate establishing your own relationship with Taotkaelo. Most sale items are 60% to 70% off and there is some very intriguing merchandise to discover.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Hayward bags. They are sold in Bergdorfs and represent an understated elegance. There are no logos on the bags and the quality is incredible. This mini baby blue moire is just $177 from $590. There is a yellow one too for the same price. A large size, in Black moire, is $255 from $850. They are all lined in leather. You really don't find this type of quality for these prices.

Other sale items that caught my attention are these Simon Rocha jelly slides for $170 from $565, a Rachel Comey jumpsuit for $180 from $600, and this Sies Marjan sleeveless dress for $389 from $1300. I'm in love with the lines on these JW Anderson shorts that are $168 from $560. There is also a great selection of highly reduced Ellery clothing and accessories.

The length of these Balenciaga capri pants is the epitome of city chic. I would pair them with ballet flats, a simple tee, and a Hermes Evelyn crossbody.  It's the best-dressed mommy playground uniform ever. Period. End of story.

It's up to you if you want to establish a virtual Totokelo relationship or take it to the next level. Either way, it's comforting to know that you will get great quality stylish fashion.

Moda Operandi Final Markdowns

For retail shoppers sale season is about to come to a close. It's essentially 2am, the music is off and the lights are about to be turned on. The party is just about over. In relation to Moda Operandi, you have less than 48 hours to check out anything that remains in your cart.

Some of the items I'm still considering include this Loewe pink and white Gate bag that's $1920 from  $3200, a Johanna Oritz hat is $93 from $310 and Givenchy silver sling-backs are $240 from $795. This long sleeve Balmain dress is a little bit of a splurge at $700 from $2300 but it will take you way into Fall.

The sale section officially disappears at 11:59PM on Sunday. Choose wisely.

Stylebop: 25% Off Everything

Get this! Starting Thursday morning, shoppers can save 25% off everything on Stylebop. That includes the new Fall collections and sale. Just use the code LASTCALL25 to engage the discount.

You can't go wrong applying the code to merchandise that's already on sale and there are some really great items on mega-discount. This Delpozo blouse is $300 from $1350. I still have a crush on this Raf era Calvin Klein skirt that's now only $280 from $1855. These Balenciaga knife boots come to just $300 from $1970. They are a bit overplayed but for this price can look amazing with rolled up jeans or black peddle pushers.

Some of the pre-season highlights include this Balmain tote that comes to $750 from about $1000, a TB Burberry belt is $337 from $460 and a Max Mara cashmere coat represents casual-decadence. Even brand new Moncler is included in the promotion. These Moncler Genius boots are $318 from $425 and a Moncler Noir Kei Ninomiya puffer is about $1475 from $1925. And get this, the site carries Philipp Plein and it's all included in the promo too.

The promotion launches at 7am CET. In NYC, that's 1am Monday morning. We suggest you start shopping now and cart what you like right now. The sale will end mid-day on Sunday in NYC.

TheOutnet: Dolce & Gabbana Sale

UPDATE: Use the code AUGUST25 to save an extra 25% off. (Thank you @Luxe__Hunt)

TheOutnet is hosting a large sale of Dolce & Gabbana merchandise. The discount on most items ranges from 50% to 60% off, which isn't exactly earth-shattering but the selection is really phenomenal.

Some of the highlights include this patchwork lace short skirt that's $558 from $1600, a silk floral print skirt is $978 from $2645, playfully embellished sandals are $490 from $1260 and this space-floral theme classic midi dress is $864 from $1910. I love the print on this scarf and it's actually a consideration at $200 from $400.

I agree. The prices seem very high, but I noticed that some prints are from the recent Summer collection. The shells print is still in stores now. I carted my favorite items and will wait for a good promotion before I check out.

In the meantime, the site also is plentifully stocked with Zimmerman, Pucci and M. Missoni pieces that are good end-of-Summer to Fall options. This Versace Collection silk blouse can actually be very useful and it's only $250.

Remember, fashion week is only a few weeks away. Time to get cracking!

For instance, if you spend $400 you can save $100, spend $800 and save $200 off expenditures of $1200 will earn you a savings of $300. The promotion is only available online. Use the code LOVESF at checkout to engage the savings.

Last year, there were nearly no restrictions on this promotion but this season. This go-round we had to search ard for brands that are included. (You know it's going to take some serious searching when even Michael Kors opts out.) The most attractive designer options include Balmain, Gianvitto Rossi, some Golden Goose, Manolo Blahnik, Aviator Nation, Rachel Comey, and some various others.

Some items that might be in the realm of consideration include this Sara Battaglia rainbow paillette dress that is already reduced to $500 from $2000. These Gianvitto Rossi mules are already reduced to $350. While browsing, we found these Manolo Hangisi 'Love' heels reduced to $410 from $1025. After the code, they come to just $317. Move fast. There aren't many sizes available.

Don't hesitate, the discount only runs through Wednesday. Next time Saks is offering a promotion it could be one of those tricky gift cards.

Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

There isn't another brand that can cause the same amount of buzz as the Manolo Blahnik final markdown. This season's exceptional assortment and prices led the way to sample sale-style lines. Shoppers were a bit taken back when prices were adjusted upwards after the first day. We have to believe that local wholesale customers were, understandably, unhappy.

This weekend marks the final days of the Net-A-Porter sale season. The sale is officially over on August 13. It's a good idea to take a final scroll through the sale section. You can still save an extra 20% off on items designated 'Sale Must-Have'.   I've also been on the hunt for a classic linen button-down shirt and am excited to get this LF Markey that was just $98. (I might go for the grey too if I'm impressed enough with the white.)

Fivestory is wrapping up its final clearance. Using the code FINALSALE saves you an extra 20% off. The store's semi-annual 'Off-Site' sale, which is taking place onsite--at the boutique-- will begin Tuesday and run through Friday. Discounts will tilt towards 85% off.

Below is a compilation of a few of my favorite items that I've purchased, carted or agonized over. I will be sure to update this post as I scroll uncover more impulse purchases.

Global Fashions Valentino Sample Sale

It's been a while since we've been in the trenches of a great sample sale. (We desperately needed recovery time from Hermes.) Next week, Global Fashions is poised to start a new wave of buzz with a Valentino Sample sale.

The sale begins on Tuesday morning and runs for three days. Inside you will find a large amount of Valentino clothing for men and women reduced 80% off. Shoes, bags, and accessories are discounted by 70%.

Men's grey tonal studded sneakers are $225 from $745 and studded leather bracelets with turquoise stones and silver studs are $255 from $845. You can see lots of pictures in the jump.

It's hard to peel yourself past the gorgeous shoes and accessories but I always love to lose myself in the cloths. A dress with embroidered butterflies comes to $1000 from $5000, a mosaic top is $400 from $2100 and a tie-day bomber jacket is $750 from $3795. Travel: August Vacation Packing List

There is nothing we don't love about Summer. Even 100-degree weather can't get us down. Our favorite part of Summer, obviously, is August vacations. Before checking out, it's always nice to pick up some fun pieces of fashion regardless of where you plan to unwind.

Something new is always fun regardless of if basking in the infinity pool of Hotel du Cap, dancing on tables at Scorpios, in Mykonos, or just slipping into flip-flops for lunch at Duryea's. Right now there are some great sales on beachwear, which usually runs on a markdown schedule a little bit different than the rest of fashion.

Over this way, we found a this Onia two-piece bathing suit that's $66 per piece from $95, the perfect Zimmerman beach mini-dress is $170 from $425 and this Etro ruffled dress is perfect for table dancing or yachting and is $240 from nearly $1200. We found these Chloe sandals for $220 from $845.

Not everything you pack needs to be Haute. Asos is perfect for shopping for casual and inexpensive beach pieces. Here is a Chevron print romper (a la Missoni) for just $45, a belted beach shirt is $38, and we love this animal print ensemble that's even great for after the beach or for a walk into town.

Don't forget about accessories and jewelry. Bauble Bar is our favorite secret for inexpensive look-great jewelry. We are in love with these customizable bracelet stacks that are $35 and these rainbow huggie earrings are $38. Don't forget about Roxanne Assouline, this bracelet stack is about $140 from $375.

While everyone is making a spectacle-wearing oversized floppy straw hats, go with something more tailored and demure. Here is a Eugenia Kim hat that's just about perfect. Don't forget to keep an eye out for Bottega Veneta's newest sandals. They are a safe bet for now and later.

An August vacation is a great excuse to take advantage of sale season. It's also fun to have a few new pieces for an upcoming trip plus you can "apply" them to your fall and winter Caribbean vacations.

Italist's Biggest Sale Event (Extra Discounts)

Most everyone who shops online (and even those who don't) are familiar with Farfetch's international multi-boutique platform. Italist is its lesser-known non-frills competitor. The real win when shopping on both sites is to find items that are priced less internationally.  When clearance season begins is when you really see significant savings.

Starting Wednesday, Italist will begin its biggest sale ever (or so we are told). You can use this link to start shopping now.

We love stalking the handbags for extra arbitrage deals. This Gucci candy bag is on sale for $642 compared to US retail of $1200. I was in shock finding this Celine C bag online at all and it's discounted to $1600 from a US retail of $3300 and this Prada canvas tote is just $490 from US retail of $990. (I'm still sad from missing a black on one Gilt that was $500.)

Italist is always my favorite site for stalking Christian Louboutins. Here are slingbacks on sale for $385 from a US retail of $800, rainbow glitter flats are $400 from $1200 at Neiman Marcus and nude patent pumps are $460 from a US retail of $700. Other standouts are Chloe scalloped flats that are $300 from a US retail of $500 and Golden Goose sneakers for $340.

We have an eye on this Balmain blazer that's currently reduced to $774 from a US retail of $2300 and this Balmain tank that's currently $160 from a US retail of $395. This Dolce & Gabbana poplin floral print dress from this season is $600.

Prices may not seem so discounted when you are looking at the site stright on. We suggest you do a search on Net-A-Porter or Neiman Marcus to get an accurate retail price.

Century 21 Clearance Sale 90% Off

Century 21 department stores started a promotion where clearance merchandise is discounted an extra 40% off. The total savings on many items top out at over 90% off. The promotion is available online and in stores.

Over this way we found Celine high boots that come to $218 from $1400, a Leonard maxi dress is just $131 from $3315, Attico shoes are $210 from $800, and a Givenchy floral print silk scarf is $60 from $400. This morning we spotted Versace scarves but they seem to have all sold out already.

Don't miss the kid's selection. There is a Young Versace boy's down jacket that is priced at $130 from $925, this floral print girl's Versace dress is $62 from $800 and Naturino sandals are, like, $15 from $72.

These sales are always much better at the store but you have to be careful of damages. There is also the time suck that happens at Century. It's almost like a casino-- time and money has a knack of vanishing. Sometimes the quick fix of online shopping, even with limitations, is all you need.
