BIG NEWS: Manolo Blahnik Sample Sale

We love Spring in New York-- markdowns, sample sales, and yes, the Manolo Blahnik. We are very excited to share that the Manolo Blahnik sample sale will be Wednesday, May 22 and it's open to the public.

The morning segment of the sale will only be open to Manolo's invited guests. Everyone else will begin to start shopping at about 11am. As is tradition, the second-floor salon of the Warwick Hotel will be the site of the event.

This sample sale is a bi-annual highlight for shoe lovers. As you can imagine, the wait time can be worse than the line at DMV. We usually prefer the boutique sales, even if prices are a bit more expensive. Those who can't make it to the sale can shop an assortment of brand new discount Manolos from the scroll above. Saks and Barneys also are presaling Manolo Blahnik at 40% off and there are lots of great Hangisi styles available.

Those who are up for the Manolo sample sale challenge, should expect to take a number and wait, and wait, and wait. Numbers will not be distributed until 7:30 am. We wouldn't suggest arriving before then because there will be no priority given-- even if you arrive at 4:30 am.

The really nice thing about this sale is that you can leave and come back once you get your lucky numbered ticket. Take note, that the sale opens to the public at 11am and will close when inventory begins to run low. In past years, that was at about 3pm to 4pm.

We expect that prices will run along the same lines as last season. Plain shoes, including leather, suede satin, and printed fabric start at $125 and go up to $150. Shoes with embellishments like glitter and studs were priced $175. Boots started at $200 for basic versions and went up to $400 for over-the-knee styles. (You can click here to see our post from last season's Manolo Blahnik sample sale or head this way to see our complete guide on shopping the Manolo sample sale.)

Over the past few seasons, the assortment has been dwindling as a result of VIP resellers, hoarders and other company modes of liquidation. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this sale is better than the past several seasons. Momma needs new Manolos!!!

If you attend the sale, please keep us all posted in the comment section below.

Hi - can you explain what you meant by suggesting we don’t have to get there earlier than 7:30am when tickets are distributed? I assumed there would be a line and timed tickets are given out, so front of the line would get earlier times and therefore better selection of inventory but is that not how it works? Any advice would be great, will be my first time and want to be as efficient as possible for the best possible score! Thanks!

I think people line up before 7:00 but it's unofficial. The feedback we have received is that the prior line breaks out and it doesn't necessarily mean you will get a lower number ticket.

Do they usually restock (i.e. add mores shoes rather than just clean up/re-organize) during this sale?

They gave out the group numbers already. Can we keep track on here on where they are group wise?

Hi! Wondering if I do not have a ticket but go there at, say, 12:30 directly, if it is possible to get in and if so, how long would be the wait? Thanks so much!

I just got a ticket. It says 37

They also said the groups are not timed....so it’s hard to say how’s long you will be waiting

They are on group 10 now

And moving by about 10 minutes per group, but from prior sales at some point they may move couple of groups at the same time

Mostly larger sizes left by now. A few Chinese people hogged piles of shoes in sizes 37 and below (probably to sell online later), so you can pretty much only hope for their cast-offs.

Group 14 now

Are there any classic styles?

Hi! I am group 42. Do you think it’s still worth going there or it’s nearly sold out?

What group number did you have?
