Net-A-Porter Designer Discount Promotion

The trend of early designer discount promotions is expanding. Net-A-Porter first started offering a small discount exclusively on designer shoes but has now extended the promotion to a full assortment of product verticals. Starting Monday,  you can save 15% off anything within this link with the use of the code NEWNOW15.

You'll quickly notice that most of the merchandise within this promotion edit will be included in the first markdown. The fact of the matter is that the big first markdown won't happen until mid-November and some items might sell out before then.

Net-A-Porter first started floating these pre-season nominal discounts last year and it was a big hit. You'll notice that a lot more designers aren't included in the promotion. There's no Saint Laurent, no Fendi, no Givenchy. Even that newly emerging brand Khaite is excluded.

You can contemplate this new style of Tom Ford bag with numerous mixed metal chains or this Tara style works great as an every-day bag and is priced quite reasonably. This mini Boyy bag is adorable and much less expensive than other mini designer options. Picking up a piece of Away luggage might not be a bad idea considering it isn't usually discounted.

This Rotate Birger Christensen dress caught our attention mid-scroll At after the discount it's under $300 and that's a lot of look for the money.  Balmain is included in the promotion. The short double-breasted blazer is already sold out but the longer option is still available. We actually like it better and there are numerous colors from which to choose.  This Versace tee is sold out in several sizes. It wouldn't be a good idea to snag it with this discount if it's been a consideration.

We were surprised to find an abundance of beauty products in the discount edit. We usually don't like buying cosmetics online but a 15% discount on a restock might not be a bad idea if you use especially pricey products. (Callout: Frederic Malle that's included too.)

We suggest looking for what you want most and inquiring about inventory levels. Once you have all the information, you can decide if 15% off is a big enough discount now or you can wait for 30% off later.

Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses

Even though the weather is still quite warm but it's only a matter of time until Fall materializes. For years, I've been yearning for a double-faced robe style coat and this season seems to be the right time to take the plunge.

I love the idea of trading out the standard issue belt with something more statement making. I initially had my eye on the Bottega Veneta horse bit belt. I later realized that it is a take on the original Tiffany Elsa Peretti Equestrian belt that's $200 less and made of sterling silver. I also love the long coat paired with the Loewe Obi belt or a bold Alaia option.

Starting with the coat, I found that Italist has a great assortment from Max Mara that's super discounted. Just for example the tremendously popular Max Mara Teddy coat is $3600 at Saks and almost sold out. Here it is Italist in black for $534, here is grey for the same price. Here is a Weekender teddy version in brown for $899.

My personal obsession is more focused on a sleek long coat. I prefer one with a small lapel and without a hood. Here is a simple beige style for $704. A similar version is $2950 at Saks.  Here is a shorter version in black for $534 and this version with a more Peterpan style collar for the same price.  I've pulled images of other great value options below. Prices this discounted pay for the statement belt.

In other add-to-cart sale intrigues, Century 21 has loaded lots of Christian Louboutin options to it's site. This classic black Pigalle is $420 from $725 and a Navy Fifi is $400 from $700.

Keep your eyes on this space over the weekend. I'll be sure to add new items as I scroll through. Also feel free to send over any hot tips.

Farfetch: New 30% Off Sale

At the start of the Month, Farfetch started a promotion where all sale merchandise was discounted 30% off. We went back to take another look before the sale ended and noticed a lot of new options thrown into the mix. That translates to a more new and deeper discounts. You can use this link to access the sale selection and add the code FX30 at checkout to engage the additional savings.

There are several items in the sale section that jumped out at us. The first item is this classic black YSL Sac de Jour that comes to $1550 from $3150 (sold out). That's more than a 50% discount and it's not so often that we see the classic black reduced at all.

This Jil Sander tote is another standout classic style and worth snatching up at $1400 from $3470. This Fendi Mon Tresor bucket bag comes to $1120 from $2290 and this Givenchy GV3 bag with fringe is $1130 from $2700. Notice that there is only one of each for most of these styles.

Among the shoes, we found these Jimmy Choo hiking boots that come to $700 from over $1400 (sold out), Alexander McQueen ankle boots are $366 from $1046 and Saint Laurent sneakers are $390 from $800. These Bottega loafers are $420 from $740 and are available in a variety of colors.

The clothing section has so much that it really requires a deep dive. We took a browse through the coats and found this Fendi style with fur pockets for $2200 from $5400,  this Esteban Cortazzar ombre coat is $2270 from $7100, and a Mr. & Mrs. Italy puffer is $1000 from $2500.

We are told that this sale will only run through the end of the month. It's worthwhile to add-to-cart and edit from there. You can always wait until next month and see the next big promo.

Intermix: Early Season Markdowns 60% Off

It still feels like Summer and we aren't complaining. Retailers on the other hand, need a chill to hit the air to ignite sweater and boot customers. Since you can't do anything about the weather, Intermix is enticing shoppers with a good markdown.

You can use this link to access the sale. Discounts are up to 60% off and include a lot of transitional pieces. The nice thing about this sale is there are a lot of great designer pieces too.  Here is a Monse knit dress reduced to $540 from $1300, gold Jimmy Choo heels are $500 from $725 and this Veronica Beard blazer is $390 from $650. (It's a good Balmain dupe for one-third the price.)

There are also some great moderately priced mid-range items too. This Stine Goya print dress caught our eye for just $319 from $540. Check out the lines on these Matteo Mars slingbacks for $280 from $660. This Michelle Maison bodysuit is $219 from $370 and would look great under-- you guessed it-- a blazer.

Don't forget to scroll through your favorite denim brands. There are lots of great savings. This Grlfrnd Kendall style is $89 from $228, this Frame skinny jeans are $99 from $215 and these Agolde loose and distressed white jeans are $99 from $158. Just make sure you know your size and like the fit because these super reduced styles are final sale.

Early Access: Shopbop Spend & Save 25%

For a long time department stores have been luring shoppers in with gift cards as shopping incentives. We'd prefer a straight discount over a gift card that expires and luring you to spend more than it's face value.

Through Friday, Shopbop is offering a shopping discount incentive that increases to 25% off. Just use the code STOCKUP19 at checkout. The promotion isn't public yet, so make sure to use this link to access the sale.

Right now, you can save 20% off on orders under $500 or save 25% off if you spend even more. Some things that caught our eye are this Jacquemus itty-bitty bag, Margiela white sneakers or some classic Levi's 501's. This Lioness blazer resembles the lines of a Balmain style but it's only $88. Maybe it's worth a shot?

Don't miss this season's hottest accessory: A belt that can be slung and manipulated into all sorts of configurations. This Off-White industrial belt is a casual option and this O-style is perfect for more dressed up options.  This season, hiking boots are used as a eye-catching juxtaposition to a dress or skirt. We like this Rachel Comey style or go grunge classic with a pair of Dr. Martens.

Of course, there are items even reduced more from prior seasons. In the sale section we found this Sonia Rykiel quilted hearts bag that will be about just $300 from about $900 or a Hayward mini-shopper that will be about $230 from almost $600. These MSGM transparent ankle boots would be fun to style for $130 from $560.

If the item you're watching isn't included in this markdown it is likely to be added in the next sale drop. Usually, the site adds batches of merchandise every few weeks.

Global Fashions Sample Sale

The Fall chill hasn't set in but those in the wholesale business are wrapping up the holiday business season. Global Fashions, which is the official luxury distributor for several Italian designer brands including couture items, will be opening its showroom to the public for a pre-Fall sample sale.

If you've been to a Global Fashions sale before you probably know the treasures that behold. We got a sneak peak while the sale was being set up and are so excited to share what we found. Discounts range from 50% to 80% off. Men's and women's clothing are all 80% off. Rockstud shoes and all sneakers are discounted 50% off.  All other shoes, boots, bags and accessories are discounted 70% off.

The Rockstud shoes are always one of the most popular attractions at Global Fashion's sample sales. Yes, there are a lot. There is a variety of options in assorted sizes and they are all reduced 50% off. There is black-on-black, bi-colored and even some tri-colored pumps and flats. A large Glamlock is $1011 from $3375 and a Rockstud wallet is $210 from $695. (You can stalk pictures of some of our favorites over here.)

The couture is always what melts our hearts at these sales. We almost fell over when we spotted a one-of-a-kind pink 3-D floral wool jacket that retails for $13,000 but is now $2600. A black wool sweater with lace detailing is a little more wallet friendly at $460 from $2290 and a full lace maxi skirt is about $800 from $3450. (Click for pics.)

Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses

This week, I have been consumed with a uniform consisting of rolled up jeans, a designer tee and a blazer. The outfit is perfect for days that start cool and transition to toasty.

This particular get-up has been extra versatile as a the workday turns to back-to-school night or a series of errands morphs into snagging last minute Broadway tickets. The outfit is drastically transformed in no time at all by swapping shoes, grabbing a different bag and swiping a deeper shade lipstick. Time doesn't allow for much more when days are this long and busy.

While on the fourth day of said uniform, I found myself scrolling for some new blazers. The Balmain version is a no-brainer. The price tag, however, takes a bit more thought. I found a few on sale and listed them below. I also really love the McQueen blazer this season. The synched waist and strong shoulders are everything you need to hold together a serious look without much cognitive effort.

Below is a list of some of the blazers I've found during my deep search along with a few good deals that have struck me this week. Keep checking back as I continue to add more from my obsessions and impulses.

Net-A-Porter: 15% Off Designer Shoes

It's shaping up to be a big week for nominal discounts on big designer brands. We unveiled a 15% off discount at Farfetch and LN-CC. Today we uncovered a designer shoe promotion at Net-A-Porter that can save you 15% off.

You can use this link and the code SHOPSTYLE15 to engage the discount at checkout. Remember, it's only shoes and some brands like Louboutin, Gucci, Prada, Bottega Veneta, and Valentino are excluded but there are still lots of luxury foot ornaments from which to apply the savings. (The full list of brand exclusions is below. )

Some shoe opportunities include Roger Vivier, Golden Goose, and YSL. We suggest focusing on items that don't usually go on sale or shoes that you know you will need before markdown season in November. It might not be a bad idea to shop for this season's biggest trend, Moto boots, if you don't already have them.

We will ill use any excuse to browse, even if we don't end up with anything.

Designer Exclusions: Arkis, Christian Louboutin, Bottega Veneta, Eres, Fendi, Gucci, Monclar, Prada, The Row and Valentino

Inside the Oscar de la Renta Sample Sale

Pamplona is famous for the Running of the Bulls and the Oscar de la Renta sale has become legendary for the running of the gowns. Today's sample sale VIP kickoff was more intense than ever but the volume of options wasn't even Emmy worthy.

To begin, three woman sprinted into the sale and one lady directed the others, "Don't look just grab." Another woman pulled so many dresses from the racks that she couldn't even carry them all. Instead she dragged them along the floor like a janitor pulling an old mop across an elementary school cafeteria.

One could argue that these women had a good strategy as this sale has much less merchandise than prior season sales. Usually the downstairs is filled with shoes and bridal gowns. This go-round, the downstairs level is occupied by a giant dressing room and there are only a few racks of bridal gowns.

Upstairs you will find almost all designer's categories but just less volume. There are dresses, gowns, coats, day-wear, skirts, furs, jewelry, belts, bags, shoes, kids clothing, kids shoes and furs. Most items are priced between 70% and 90% off retail. Samples, which can be identified by an internal sample tag, are priced according to a master list. (You can see the price sample lists in the jump.) All other items are priced as marked.

Some of the standouts include an ombrΓ© tulle gown for $1650 from nearly $15,000. A one shoulder gown with silk lace and tonal bead embroidery tracing every edge is also $1650 from $18,290. Rose Leslie wore it to the season 8 premier of Game of Thrones premier. A less opulent leaf motif dress is $875 from about $6000. Clearly, the savings on dresses and gowns are substantial. (You can see pictures here.)

Over towards the checkout counter, you'll see an assortment of jewelry and belts. Most are priced at about 80% off retail. These flower drop earrings in assorted colors are $65 from $350 and there are bins of great belts all priced at $40. Classic ODLR floral "Tro" bags are $537 from $1790. (We have pictures and prices over here.)

Most all Children's shoes that are all priced at $41. Last year, they were $20 but you can't really complain even at $40. Some have original price stickers of more than $250. The children's clothing assortment isn't very  plentiful. Most samples are a size six.

The ODLR sale is one of those popular events that tend to attract lots of shoppers, which tend to accumulate into a steady line throughout the days of the sale. It's not usually too bad of a wait but you should clock in some extra time if you're thinking of taking a quick pass through the sale.

Farfetch 15% Off Full Price Designer

Farfetch is the most recent retailer to begin an early season discount promotions. Using this link and the code 19MID will afford you a savings of 15% off a wide selection of merchandise. The code does not apply to all designers and it's been a big guessing game trying to figure out what's included.

We've tried to eliminate hours of disappointment and guess work. Bottega Veneta is not included. Gucci is not included. Saint Laurent is not included. Balenciaga is not included. Valentino is not included.

So what can you use the code for? You can save on Off-White, Prada, Golden Goose, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and most everything else. You can identify an eligible item once you click on the detail page.

It's best to use these slight discounts for items you need right away or for products that can potentially sell out in your size. This is sometimes the case when you have a difficult shoe size or if an item is in high demand.

Some worthy uses of the code can be for these Amina Muaddi Begum boots that will not stay in stock through sale season. Paris Texas snake-print high boots are already pretty affordable at $560 and the 15% off makes them a very palatable purchase. Maybe you want to gift yourself a classic Loewe bag that doesn't go on sale or maybe you want to grab one of those Jacquemus tiny bags while they are still Instagram worthy?

You shouldn't have to look too hard to find what you've already desire. Be forewarned: There is no expiration on this code, so the extra savings can go away at any moment.

LN-CC: New Season Moncler and Gucci Discounts

We have noticed that a few retailers have initiated early discount promotions. The savings might not be large but the incentives are good at driving early season savings. The downside is that most of these shopping promotions exclude major designers.

It only was a matter of time until we hit the designer jackpot. European luxury emporium, LN-CC is actually focusing on just the items we really want. We received a code that will allow you to save 15% off on a top selection of merchandise. Just use this link and the code special15ln at checkout to engage the savings.

You must use this link to view the eligible items. We are most excited by the bag selection. You can save nearly $450 off this Gucci leather shoulder bag, about $300 off this see-through Fendi shopper to $260 off this Valentino Candystud bag.

Among the other eligible items are thes include these classic Gucci loafers and this oversized Gucci belt. Don't miss the Moncler-Palm Angles collaboration items and these Gucci tees.

The code will be active until September 23 and LN-CC offers free shipping and free returns on most purchasers.

Barneys Gift Card Promotion

Not sure where to get the best bang for your full price dollar? We suggest you head to Barneys.

Through Monday, Barneys shoppers can earn a $25 gift card for every $250 you spend. Purchases over $500 will get you even more. Accrued gift cards are redeemable for merchandise from September 2 through October 16.

There aren't any exclusions listed even though Louboutin, Chanel and Celine are usually on the do-not-apply list. Either way, that leaves lots of the prime fall fashion from which to choose (or shoes.) Gucci, Fendi, and Dior are included in the promotion. We would suggest going for a Bottega tote, a Gianvitto Rossi bi-color mules, a CDG tee or Prada thunder heels.

The 'Infinity' promotion is available (what remains of) Barneys stores , on the website and at BarneysWarehouse. Be warned, however, Barneys will most likely not extend the dates if the cards aren't used during the specified window of time. So be sure to enjoy your meal at Fred's and go back next week to use those gift cards!

MatchesFashion Extra 20% Off

Online luxury retailers are feeling the pressure to close out anything left from prior seasons and MatchesFashion is the most recent site to add a little promotion to their sale selection. Starting today, you can save an additional 20% off past season merchandise, which has already been reduced up to 70% off. Use code EXTRA20 at checkout to engage the additional savings.

We found these tall YSL brown suede boots that come to $720 from $1800 and they are still available in several sizes. The Bolide shape Balenciaga bag  rings up at $1200 from $2150, and this Givenchy GV3 is $1600 from $3000.

The brand Hunting Season has been trending and adding this pouch won't take too much of an investment as it just $320 from $771. You might be able to justify the price of this Balmain logo dress at $610 from $1885 and this coat from The Row is classic and is even less expensive than the sample sale at $1450 from $6000. It's also one of those pieces you can keep for life!

The most reduced items are from prior seasons but classics stand the test of time. There is really a good selection from which to shop. Just be mindful that the extra discount deems these items final sale.

Shopping; Obsessions & Impulses

Fashion week is in full swing and we can't help but scroll through sale sections looking to replicate the styles we see on the runways. Frankly, it's nice to do something productive while Uber-ing between shows.

LuisaViaRoma is hosting a deal where you can take an extra 25% off sale merchandise with the code EX25. Don't miss Le Monde Beryl mules that come to $180 from $480, Prada rainboots for $375 from $1250 and Alexander Birman sandals are $175 from $416. With prices like that you can skip the sample sale.

Through Tuesday, you can save Neiman Marcus Last Call  is offering $100 off every $200 spent. That effectively translates to 50% off. Use the code SAVENOW at checkout. I found Roger Vivier flats that come to $428 from $1375, a JW Anderson drawstring bag is $365 from $1330, and an Edie Parker 'Pop' bag is $350 from $1300.

Below is a list of some of the most noteworthy items I found. Keep checking back and I will add more, which is sure to happen. Hello, Bottega Veneta belt!

The IT-It: Amina Muaddi Back in Stock

The designer shoe floor has become increasingly more congested. Not so long ago, designer shoes were limited to a small area of any store and represented the biggest fashion houses and a small assortment of legacy brands like Manolo Blahnik and Todds. Today, footwear is one of the largest grossing departments in any retail environment and spans the largest 'footprint.'

Amina Muaddi is the newest designer with ambitions of winning over shoe customers. Splitting her childhood between Jordan and Romania and then continuing her education n Italy, Amina was able to achieve a unique design approach to shoes and started her own brand in 2018.

Her shoes fuse a sense of opulence with timeless glamour. A particular emphasis is placed on the construction of her pieces and most designs are hand-made. Amina believes the last and the heel to be two most crucial elements to ensure the best quality shoe.

In a little over a year, Amina she has accomplished creating such a buzz that finding her shoes has been a challenge. We noticed that her pre-fall collection hit stores over the weekend and various styles are currently available but are going fast.

Intermix, Mytheresa, LuisaViaRoma and MatchesFashion currently have limited availability for preorders on the hand-made shoes. Our favorite styles include the designer's distinctive geometric pedestal heel. We are crazy for these rainbow Begum slingbacks and the newest ankle boots with a lucite heel.

We suggest you make a quick decision if Amina Muaddi heels attract your fancy. The last season's collection disappeared fairly quickly and the designer's fan base is exploding, which is a recipe for a quick sell-out.

5 Must-Haves for NYFW

New York Fashion Week has officially started. Over the past several years, the fashion on the street has become even more important than than what is shown on the runway. Street style sets the tone for the entire season. What's hot at fashion week usually becomes must-haves through the holiday season.

In honor of NYFW, we are listing the five hottest items of the pre-season. Some aren't even officially available and others are sold out. If you can get your hands on any of these items we suggest you do so asap. The buzz is only going gain in momentum as all your favorite influencers flex their most swagy fashions.

1. Louis Vuitton Multi-Pochette (M44813) $1550
You might have seen this concoction of bags already popping up on the Instagram feed on some of your most influential style gurus. The "bag" is essentially comprised of three bags-- a micro pouchette, a larger pouchette and a round change purse. They are connected together by a chain and a fabric strap to create a utility cross-body type-bag. Fabric straps can be purchased separately for $495 each. The bag was slated to launch on September 1 but has been pushed off until September 27. This is the type of item we suggest preordering immediately if you intend on adding it to your collection.

2. The Bottega Veneta Pouch $2400
Writing about this bag again is starting to feel redundant but the fad is just beginning. We've already seen people collecting multiple colors of this clutch. White has been the hardest color to get and it's available RIGHT NOW. The white version been especially popular because it resembles a cloud and looks dreamy when clutched under the arm.  We expect to see lots of the the new metallic colors during fashion week. You can click here to grab yours now and a limited edition red was just launched today too,

3. Bottega Veneta Stretch Sandals $720
What's harder to get than a white Bottega Pouch? Stretch sandals! They seem to have launched but have never been accessible. You just can't get these sandals unless your very well connected. We wish we had some advice but we are baffled. As an alternative, we suggest that mortals pre-order the Padded Bloc Pumps as they can be worn for the following eight months. They are also poised to be a big sell-out.

4. Valentino VSling $2575
The tone-on-tone matte is a toned down version of logo-mania. It looks fresh and cool. Almost like a matte Porsche Panamera. The bag is starting to catch the attention of fashion participants but it hasn't trickled into the mainstream. What's even better is that the bag hasn't been all over Instagram, which makes you the ultimate influencer.

5. Amina Muaddi Belgum Brooch Pump $895
The shoe brand d'jour is Amina Mauddio. If you haven't heard of it, now you have. Amina Muaddi is best known for its vibrant colors and holographic designs. We like them because of heel's distinctive geometric pedestal. Our favorite style has a jeweled toe. We are torn between black, aqua or pink but would take any if we could find them. They are sold out at most everywhere. We could only find size 5s but we will continue to keep our eyes open.

Saks Fifth Avenue: Save Now Promotion

We have become all too familiar with department stores' gift card shopping incentives. You spend as much as you can for the opportunity to receive a gift card for a later purchase. More often than not, you get your gift card and think that you're going to save it to buy something special. By the time you commit to the purchase, the gift card is expired. It's all very disappointing.

Good thing, Saks Fifth Avenue is offering a promotion that doesn't require to use a gift card at a future date. Depending on how much money you spend, you can save money off your purchase right now. The promotion is only available online. Use the code FORMESF at checkout to engage the savings.

The breakdown is:
Spend $250, save $50
Spend $450, save $100
Spend $700, save $175
Spend $1000, save $250

In the past, there were nearly no restrictions on this promotion but this season. This go-round we had to search for brands that are included. (You know it's going to take some serious looking when even Michael Kors opts out.) The most attractive designer options include Balmain, Gianvitto Rossi, Manolo Blahnik, Aviator Nation, Rachel Comey, and some various others.

You can go for this Balmain blazer and save $500 from the full price of $2100. This Rachel Comey puff sleeve top will come to $325 from $425 if you throw in a package of hair ties. These lace Manolo "Hangisiflala" flats are beyond gorgeous and discounted $250 with the promo.

While you're browsing, don't miss the sale merchandise. We found these Gianvitto Rossi mules for $193 from $645, The Row low boot for $476 from $1200 and  Moncler rain boots $223 from $425. Take note, the promotional savings can't be applied towards sale merchandise.

The code is valid through Friday. The next Saks promotion is one of those tricky gift cards.

September Sample Sales πŸŒΎπŸƒπŸŒ»

It's hard to believe that Summer is already over. Normally, September is a dead month for sample sales but there appears to be a blooming calendar this season. We aren't sure if the proliferation of September sales is a sign of a shifting economy or the expanding sample sale business but only time will tell.

We've exclusively listed the sample sales that we think are worthy of your time and effort. These are only sales we explicitly endorse. The post will continue to be updated throughout the month. You can also follow along on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to get quick and immediate updates or check Shopdrop for a complete list of all New York sample sales. Feel free to ask questions and leave feedback in the comments section, so that everyone can benefit from the 'Spy' network.

Most items were priced between 70% and 90% off retail. Belts and jewelry were 80% off and some shoes were priced as little as $20. Italist Begins November-Type Markdowns

We all wait eagerly forward to November's first markdowns but how exciting would it be if you could get similar discounts today? Italist has already started to chisel away at prices on Fall '19 merchandise. The additional savings on top of the currency difference adds to some big savings. You might even go as far as saying it's as good as first markdown.

Take a look at this new Gucci Marmont style. It's currently $2200 at Bergdorf Goodman but it's priced at under $1500 on Italist. The Gucci Dionysus tweed bag is priced at $2500 at Bergdorfs and under $1500 on Italist.  Some other interesting standouts include the Fendi perforated Kan U for $1630 from a US retail of $2390, A Valentino medium size Rockstud tote is $1480 from a US retail of $2400 and the Celine small 16 is $2533 compared to $4100 at Celine in the US.

There aren't just great bags. Balenciaga Triple S sneakers are $680 from US retail of $895, Gucci tweed hiking boots are $882 from a US retail of $1190 and Bottega Veneta pumps are $550 from $760 in the US.

Italist's prices may not seem so discounted when you are looking at the site straight on. We suggest you do a search on Net-A-Porter or Neiman Marcus to get an accurate retail price. We don't need to wait until November to pull the trigger. We can start enjoying now.
