Bergdorf Goodman Extra 25% Off

Black Friday was a bust. We were much more entertained by Singles Day, which was already two weeks ago. All weekend we've been awaiting Bergdorf Goodman's holiday weekend promotion to start on Sunday. It's un-officially on and you can use this link to access the extra 25% off. (Items are continually added.)

photo: kategelinsky

Like most of the weekend, promotions this sale is overhyped too. There is only an assortment of the merchandise included in the extra markdown. The highlights are a scattering of Givenchy and Balenciaga bags. There are no women's designer shoes included in the extra discount promotion.

Some maybes include this Ganni dress that is $121 from $270. It would look adorable with boots. This Cinq a Sept sequined dress might help you get int the holiday spirit as it's only $222 from $500. Phillip Lim wide-leg leather pants are $630 from $1400.

If you have a warm-weather vacation planned you can do a size sort and find a few pieces to pack for fun in the sun. This Petersyn maxi dress is $178 from $1600 and this Jonathan Simkhai top is $77 from $300.

Bergdorfs will have a one day sale on Dec 2.  Be sure to mark your calendar for the official second markdown on December 12. We are quite certain that sale will be better than this.

Top Three Places to Shop This Weekend

The kick-off to Black Friday weekend has already started. There are so many places to spend your money it's hard to choose. Our official guide to Black Friday got so long that we are nearly lost in the sea of shopping options.

To expedite your shopping weekend, we chose three of what we believe to be the "best" sites to shop. Take note, that usually the best selection of merchandise isn't the most discounted and sites with the steepest markdowns don't usually have the best selection.

Below are three sales we highly recommend, along with a few of our favorite grab and go items. In this case, they might be more lust-anguish-and-quickly-check-out-before-overthinking. (Warning, editorial decisions are subject to change and there is a chance we can update this post with alternative options.)

Moda Operandi
The Moda Operandi sale offers a great selection of already reduced merchandise and the extra discount provides big savings on a great assortment of high fashion items. Sizes are patchy among the merchandise already reduced 50% off. We found this Zimmerman floral print jumpsuit that comes to just $185 from $530 and there is a full range of sizes available. The site also launched a private sale of Prada and Miu Miu, which you can access here. There are lots of great options for men too! The discounts are 50% off clothing and 40% off shoes, bags, and accessories.
Deal: Extra 30% off Sale
Code: X30 (Prada / Miu Miu Private code: PRIVATEX
Dates: Through Dec 2

Shopping on Farfetch can feel like shooting at a moving target. Each product listing can represent a dozen retailers. As each item sells, the price changes according to the different store that's being represented. We suggest you check back often as there is always something new and different popping up. This Graffiti Balenciaga bag is about $1000 from $2150 and a Balmain tank is $165 from $395 at US stores.
Code: FFX30
Dates: Until Dec 26

The discounts on MatchesFashion aren't the deepest but the selection is still very good The additional 10% off isn't restricted, which limits the disappointments. This Balenciaga Shift bag is a great price, considering we haven't seen it on sale at many other retailers and this Khaite blazer is a stunner at about $800.
Deal: Extra 10% off sale
Code: Extra10
Dates: Until Dec 26

Honorable Mention:

Neiman Marcus Black Friday Sale
Deal: Extra 33% off a selection of sale
Dates: Ends 11:59 on 11/19

Black Friday: Unpublished Links & Insider Information

As Thanksgiving Day approaches it's hard to choose between cooking, eating, and shopping. You can guess our predication. This holiday season is turning out to be the most competitive since 2009. Black Friday is already upon us and the Thanksgiving floats haven't been inflated. Good thing that we have all the inside scoop and can lend you a little preview of the markdowns to come.

European online luxury retailers seem to take Black Friday even more seriously than American retailers. Head to Farfetch to save an additional 30% off sale prices. We are also looking forward to Sunday when Bergdorf Goodman will offer an extra 25% off sale merchandise and Intermix will start a savings promotion on Wednesday.

Remember, it's always a good idea to add all your purchase considerations into your cart and edit out the items as sales go live. Madison Ave Sale-ing: Balenciaga, Louboutin, Givenchy, Valentino and More

It couldn't have been a more perfect afternoon to "sale" down Madison Avenue. The bright sun, changing leaves and ubiquitous sales make it ideal conditions to browse, shop and absorb all the beauty of luxury fashion.

Discounts range from 30% to 50% off at many Madison Avenue boutiques. Most stores are officially on sale but there are a few still holding out until Friday. Historically, department stores are priced better than brand-owned retailers, but this doesn't seem to be the case this season.

Take note, Saturday, December 7 begins the 'Miracle on Madison'. Between the hours of 10am and 5pm, Madison Avenue stores will be donating 20% of all sales to the pediatric initiatives of the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering MSK Kids. There are dozens of participating stores and lots of extra sips and snacks to enhance the holiday shopping festivities.

You can click here to see a full list of participating stores.

Who is gaga for Balenciaga? Not as many people as last year but still enough to maintain the heat. The discounts range from 30% to 50% off. Most bags are 30%. Shoes are half-off and sneakers are 30% off. Those BB mules we've been eyeing are 50% off. It will look great with Winter white and transition easily into Spring. Click for pics.
Mark 212-328-1671

Christian Louboutin
This is the first season that we remember Christian Louboutin going on markdown at the same time as all other brands. The discount is 40% off on all sale styles. Nothing was jumping off the shelves as we shopped.  Frankly, the sale selection is much better at Bergdorf Goodman. We have all the sale pictures over this way.
Jose 212-396-1884

Dolce & Gabbana
Expect to find a fresh bloom of discounts and floral prints at Dolce & Gabbana. The markdown is 40% off on most seasonal merchandise. Be sure to check out the velvet floral print collection. We have an assortment of colorful pictures of the Dolce & Gabbana sale merchandise over this way. Billy: 212-249-4100

Emilio Pucci
The discount at Pucci is 40% off for the fall and winter collections. There are a few shoes and bags included in the sale. We suggest you browse the large assortment of sale scarves. There are lots of swim items that will be perfect for your Carribean getaway. We also spotted small pouches that come to just $180 and make a great gift. You can click on the jump link to see what we found on sale at Pucci.
Mo: 212-230-1145

Givenchy switched up the store a little and it feels less like a labyrinth with a focal point of Cruise collection bags in the middle. Markdowns are 40% off. There are only two racks of clothing included in the sale but no bags have been reduced. This is an instance where you will do better at a department store. See for yourself.
Karina 212-650-0180

Tom Ford
There is little that Tom Ford doesn't do well and sales aren't discluded. Right now, there is a large assortment of bags, shoes, and clothing all reduced 50% off. The best bet is a clutch that's 50% off and comes to about $700. Here is a picture of the clutch and an overview of what you will find at the store.
Veronica 212-359-0300

The Valentino boutique has started its sale. The discount on shoes, clothing and most handbags are 40% off. The sale started last week but there is still a nice selection of options. You can check our pictures here to see what we found. The discount at Bergdorfs is 40% off on bags too and they have a few more classic items than the Valentino boutique.
Neusa 212-772-6969

This is Zimmerman's first sale cycle on Madison Avenue. The store was surprisingly busy considering that the sale doesn't start until Friday. We are told that nothing from the current collection will be reduced but, instead, items from the past Summer season will be brought back out at a discount. The markdown will only be 30% off but items that were previously reduced will be discounted even more. You will probably do much better shopping from Shopbop.
Annie 212-486-8080

Ssense Takes Its First Markdown

We are just days away from the formidable Black Friday and most retailers have already taken their first markdowns. Today, SSense joined the ranks for the online sale community. The markdown isn't officially live yet but you can use this link to save up to 50% off right now.

This sale isn't known for its explosive discounts but it's a great site to find merchandise that may not be discounted at other retailers. For example, a pink sparkly Balenciaga Bolide-shape bag? Have you seen it anywhere else? It's 15% off. The Jacquemus 'Le Chiquito' bag is sold out at most retailers but is 20% off or $403 from $510. Looking for those Saint Laurent Betty shades? They are 20% off. Fendi tights are $142 from $175.

This Bottega Veneta small tote is a find at $1970 from $2500 or a Canada Goose down bomber jacket is $740 from $900. There is also a decent selection of discounted Moncler puffers. This pink velvet style is $980 from $1700 and is still available in almost all sizes.

Pretty light blue suede Christian Louboutin heels are $640 from $845. Other sale highlights include the Saint Laurent mini Lou bag for $816 from $995 and a Kenzo sweatshirt, which makes a great gift item for $200 from $255.

At this point, you get the idea. Search Ssense for a designer you like and you're likely to find an interesting item on sale. It might not be the biggest savings but sometimes you only need a little discount to make the purchase worthwhile.

Nordstrom Sale Goes Live Online

It's been nearly 10-days since Nordstrom started presale at its stores and now discounts on designer merchandise are finally live online. You can click here to access the sale now.

Alexandra Lapp

Upscale designer discounts are 40% off in nearly all categories.  We first prowled the handbag section and found this Chloe Annie bag is reduced to $1110 from $1850, a Valentino VRing bag is $2040 from $4400, and a mini Saint Laurent Loulou is $1155 from $1650. This Maison Margiela iridescent puffy pouch is catching our eye for $866 from $1445.

Among the shoes are these Jimmy Choo boots that are $900 from $1500, YSL Opyum sandals are $717 from $2200 and velvet Manolo Blahnik heels are $778 from $800.  Click here to scroll shoe sale. Take note, that the sale selection at stores is even better than what you'll find online. Most notably, Gucci and Louboutin are not discounted on the website.

Among the clothing, we spotted this Versace silk blouse that's now $700 from $1175. (Don't say we didn't warn you about the Versace takeover coming in the Spring. This top looks gorgeous under a black blazer and could be worn with jeans or dressed up with leather.) This cashmere sweater with hearts from Halogen is wallet-friendly at $100 from $150. We found this plaid La DoubleJ plaid coat at 60% off.

You can click here to see pictures of what we found on sale at the store. Remember, Nordstrom is very good at price matching. Even if the Nordstrom isn't discounted as much as another retailer they will adjust the price to close the deal.

Where to Shop This Weekend

Last year, nearly every store started their markdowns on the same day. It was chaos for the consumer and everyone who watches sales-- mainly us. This season, the discounts have been a little staggered and we are even waiting for more to launch. photo by @posh_foto, in Milan
Before we go into the weekend, I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at the status of sales at our local stores. Usually, our comparison sheet is focused on Saks, Bergdorfs, and Barneys. Sadly, we are knocking Barneys off our standard comparison paradigm but will continue to track the liquidation status on its own. This season, we welcome NYC newcomers, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, to the spreadsheet.

Most stores are discounted "up to 50% off" but only some retailers have taken a big cut from this season's top merchandise. For example, Neiman Marcus has some items reduced 50% off but merchandise anything good from this season is reduced just 30%. Below is our famous markdown spreadsheet. Take note, Nordstrom's online sale won't go live until Sunday. For now, we left all its fields as N/A.

After browsing through all the stores we feel that Bergdorfs offers the best selection and deepest discounts. If you're looking for Gucci, however, you'll need to head to Saks or Neimans.

Feel free to reference the Excel schematic for all your weekend shopping needs. In addition, don't miss the Net-A-Porter sale, which is excellent this season and Luisa Via Roma is extending an additional 20% off sale items with the code BF20 as part of a "pre-Black Friday" promotion.

All weekend long we will post great finds on Instagram. If you see something, say something. We need all the eyes searching for that prize.

Now LIVE: Net-A-Porter Sale Up to 50% Off

The Net-A-Porter sale went live early Thursday morning. Usually, this markdown isn't worth much excitement but the online luxury site is a little more aggressive with its markdowns than in past years.

NAP usually starts a fake-break early markdown and then, moments later starts a real sale by adding the big designers and lowering prices. This season, this first cut much better than past seasons but there is still more to come.

The markdown is up to 50% off and most items fall in the 30% to 40% category. The 50% reductions usually consist of heavy inventory levels or leftovers from a prior season. This Balenciaga top is older and a little awkward but reduced 50% off and this Bolide-style bag is still $1500 from $2150. I was surprised to find this Valentino V-Lock bag for 50% off or $1180 from $2375.

Some goodies that I have socked away in my cart include these Balenciaga square-toe BB mules but they aren't on markdown yet. I did spot a YSL small camera bag that's 40% off and comes to $690 from $1150 and this Givenchy GV3 is a good deal at 50% off or about $1300 from $2600.

This Rick Owens blazer is discounted but not enough. Belts are the accessory of the season and I like the subtly of this YSL style.  The Peter Do hi-lo pleated skirt is insanity. I finally grabbed this Isabel Marant sweater that is $700 from $1000.  (I'm holding off on the sweater dress even if it's 40% off!)

The shoe section is a lot of sneakers and summer sandals, which were more highly reduced three months ago. There are some good options among the Gianvito Rossi selection. Among the more exclusive designers, there is a wide selection of Fendi options. These PVC flats are $390 from $650.

What's did you check out with?

Hidden Early Access Neiman Marcus /Bergdorf Sale (Pics)

Bergdrof Goodman's sale is bustling with loyal shoppers as most merchandise is already discounted 40%. Over at the Hudson Yards Neiman Marcus, the story is much different. The sale racks are out but nobody knows or notices. The discounts range from 30% to 50% off.

The markdown for both stores won't go live to the public until Thursday, November 21 but we were given this VIP early access right now with this link.

The Bergdorf Goodman link is hidden here. You can read the post about what we found at Bergdorf's over here.

The Neiman Marcus sale includes a large assortment of handbags reduced 30% off including Balenciaga, Loewe, YSL.  A Valentino V-Ring bag with a tassel is $2659 from $3545. A Loewe Puzzle bag is $1912 from $2700, a Balenciaga XXS tote is $892  from $1200. This YSL Monogram Sulpice is $1942 from $2590. (You can click here to see pictures from inside the store.)

Among the shoe racks, there is an abundance of Balenciaga Triple S sneakers that are $731 from $975.  A square toe Balenciaga mule with the BB heel is $650 from $900. The Manolo Blahnik assortment is slim online and much better at the store. Leopard pumps are $590 from $800 and Suede slingbacks are $536 from $725. These Moncler winter boots with fur are $643 from $870, YSL Opyum boots are $1253 from $1700. (Christian Louboutin and Gucci are discounted at the store but not online.) Click for pics.

The prices and selection are better at Bergdorf Goodman, for now. You can click over this way to check out what we found at the store or access the sale early online right now.

Inside the Prada Sample Sale

The Prada sample sale kicked off today to VIPs. This is the first Prada sale in over a decade, which caused lots of excitement among shoppers. Unfortunately, the discounts weren't as high as many attendees were anticipating and a majority of shoppers left the sale left empty-handed.

As we predicted, the markdowns aren't any higher than what you would normally fund during the first markdown at Prada retailers. Handbags and accessories are 40% off and shoes and bags are discounted 50%. On the bright side, there is a selection of merchandise from the most recent Prada collections.

Early VIP shoppers arrived at the sale at about 7:30am. When doors opened at 10am, there was a line around the block. By mid-afternoon, there was no line to get into the sale and very few shoppers inside.

For Women, you will find an assortment of knapsacks, pouches, and totes and small leather goods with this season's lightening and rose motifs. There is also a selection from last winter's accessories, which was a combination of nylon and leather bags with studs. Pieces from the Ouverture and tye-dye collections and studded bags can be found in various sizes. This padded Prada clutch with a small chain is probably one of the best items at the sale and comes to about $600 from $925.

The clothing options, which are 50% off, consist of a lot of items from the Summer tie-dye collection. There are a variety of skirts and dresses. The Miu Miu standouts are snakeskin coats and rhinestone items.

The men's selection contains the same themes as the woman's. In addition, there are some travel items like suitcases on wheels and briefcases. There are also some more sneaker options and nylon coats and jackets.

Photos are not allowed. As a matter of fact, the lenses on everyone's phone were taped. Yes, even the front lenses. The photos above will give you a good idea of what you will find at the sale. Not everything is exact but it's a good start.

Nothing Prada is ever bad but it's hard to endorse running to this sale and waiting on a long line. There are so many avenues for discounted Prada that this should be on the itinerary of only the brand's biggest fans.

We are told that the sale will be restocked throughout the sale dates but we don't expect many new additions. Any price cuts won't be drastic. Feel free to share your questions and observations below. Even if the discounts aren't extraordinary, it's always fun to go to a Prada sale.

MatchesFashion & Farfetch (Fake) Break Sale

You thought you were safe while stayed isolated to in-store shopping but online sales are beginning. MatchesFashion and Farfetch started their sales today. Both sites are offering discounts of up to 50% off but most of the best merchandise is reduced by 30%.

The designer offering in MatchesFashion's sale section isn't extensive. Before you dive in, scroll with a critical eye. Most of the sale selection is from prior seasons, which has already been reduced for six months with periodical promotions of an extra 20% off.

The best bets are the Loewe bags reduced 30% and shoes that are 40% off.  There are also new logo Burberry bags in the sale section but beyond that, there aren't many handbags worth attention.

The shoe selection isn't much better. There are these Balenciaga BB leopard booties that are $875 from over $1700. There Gabrielle Hearst boots are 50% off and come to $700 and Jimmy Choo suede boots are discounted the same amount and come to $790. These Aquazzura pumps are new season and reduced to $350 from $700.

Heading over to Farfetch, you will discover more add-to-cart options but this still isn't the full sale deluge. There isn't a lot of Balenciaga in the sale section, which is a big fake-break indication. We did happen upon XXS Shopping tote that's $140 from  $1490. Pointy toe mules with belts are $600 from $1220.

In contrast, there is a huge amount of Balmain. We spotted this Balmain tank for 60% off or $155, which is a very good price considering in the US they are close to $400. Here is a sweatshirt for $230 from $575. There is also a lot of Off-White priced at 50% off. A classic Binderclip bag is $488 from $1220 or an Arrows tote is $190 from $275.

This Summer, there is going to be a huge Versace push as a result of J.Lo crashing the Internet. We suggest you prowl the sale section now before the trend catches on. This bucket hat is $188 from $375 and this logo cardigan is $550 from $1100. You can never go wrong with a classic print silk blouse.

Beware, sometimes the same item is listed multiple times on Farfetch. Once you land on an interest, we suggest you do a search just for a particular item to make sure you're carting the one for the best price.

Stay tuned. More merchandise will be added to the sale sections soon.

Inside: Bergdorf Goodman First Markdown (50+ Pics)

Update: Access the hidden VIP online sale now. The photos below are all active with the sale prices too.

Bergdorf Goodman is usually the most conservative of our local stores when it comes to markdowns. This season, however, the "Lavender Lady" is not playing coy and offering discounts of 40% off bags, shoes, and clothing. The sale started at the store and becomes official online on Wednesday, November 20 NOW.

The main floor of handbags is buzzing with activity as customers revel over the great deals. Valentino bags are 40% off. Balenciaga is 30% off. Loewe is 40% off. Saint Laurant is 30% off and Fendi is 30% off. You can click here to see pictures of what styles are included in the markdown. Our favorite finds were this two-tone Loewe Hammock bag $1500 from $2500 and a mini crossbody Saint Laurent camera bag comes to $700 from $995.

Upstairs in the shoe department, you will find a fantastic assortment of shoes for presale at 40% off. Usually, the first markdown is just 30% to 33% off. The sale selection includes Celine, Christian Louboutin, Fendi,  Prada, Manolo, Valentino and so much more. There is no Gucci, Chanel, Dior or included in this markdown.

Some of our favorite shoe styles are this Manolo navy and gold Hangisi heels that come to $615 from $1025. There is also a flat version of the same shoe. Christian Louboutin So Kate boots are $600 from $995 and black sneakers with red bottoms are $717 from $1200. We have lots of pictures over here.

Most clothing brands are reduced by 40%. There are lots of Prada options, which are reduced by 50% off. You can click here to access the Prada sale online now. A cardigan with 3-D flowers is $1310 from $2620. Click for pics.

The presale was bustling and it's hard not to understand why. The selection and prices are great. We believe that sizes will go very quickly once the sale lands online. We suggest that you use our pictures as a guide to what will be included in the markdown and cart it now for easy reference.

Sample Sale Alert: PRADA

Prada just announced that it will be holding a sample sale later this week, hosted by 260 Sample Sale.  The invitation says the sale is private but it was sent to anyone on the 260 Sample Sale email distribution list. This is the first time the Italian brand has hosted a sample sale in nearly 10 years.

You can read our post about the last Prada sample sale in 2009 over here and here is a deeper look into the 2008 sale with pictures.  These prior sales occurred in a pre-Instagram era, and the comment sections are as insightful as the posts themselves. You'll notice that markdowns started at only 50% off but then tilted towards 90% during the last moments of the sale.

You will also notice that shoppers waited two to three hours to get into the sales, which seems in-line with the wait at big sales today. The most noticeable difference is that the first shoppers reported getting to the sale at 6:30am. You can bet that this year, shoppers will arrive at least five hours prior to opening.

This year's Prada sale will begin on Tuesday for VIPs and then will open to the public on Wednesday. Cameras will be prohibited and phone lenses will be taped closed. There will also be a four bag limit for each shopper.

We are told that this year's sale will be comprised of an assortment of bags, shoes, and clothing. We think there will be a huge amount of shoes and bags but we don't believe that discounts will be drastic. Prices are likely to be in-line with the boutique's normal markdown of 50% off and then shift into higher reductions later in the week. We don't anticipate that discounts will hit 90% as they did a decade ago.

Prada has had a difficult time in the new era of retail. Despite adding e-commerce to its site, resurrecting the Linea Rossa collection and creating a streetwear aesthetic, Prada still hasn't been able to grab a foothold with Millennial shoppers. A Prada insider disclosed that annual sales at the Soho Flagship store was $24 million in 2014 but was only $12 million last year. (These numbers have not been confirmed.)

In anticipation of the big sample sale, local retailers are slashing Prada and Miu Miu prices ahead of the official designer sales. Friday night, Saks Fifth Avenue sent a VIP link New Yorkers offering 40% off Prada and Miu Miu shoes and bags and 50% off clothing. You can use this link and the code ALMDZMS to engage the Saks discounts.

Saturday morning, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman made a similar move and sent VIP links to New Yorkers. The discounts are the same: 40% off shoes and bags and 50% off clothing.

Some of the online highlights include these chunky lace-up Miu Miu boots that are now $570 from $950, a rose-print turtleneck is $780 from $1560, a Miu Miu leather miniskirt is $750 from $1500, and the 3-D floral dress that was practically a sell-out at stores is now $2340 from $4680. This nylon belt bag is $495 from $825, a card case is $186 from $310,  and this quilted crossbody is $930 from $1550. Anything with bananas or tie-dye is from older collections and have been previously discounted much deeper.

We will be sure to keep you posted about the sample sale and add information as it's received. Please feel free to do the same in the comment section below.

Two of my favorite stores are hosting private sales that you're not going to want to miss. Moda Operandi just launched a friends and family sale with discounts of 25% off and the Paris-based 24S has a private VIP link with discounts of up to 40% up.

You can use this link to shop the eligible items in the Moda friends & family sale. Then use the code FF25 to engage the savings at checkout.

Some standouts include this longer Balmain blazer that's $2500 from $3375. This season, I actually prefer the longer versions as they look less Desperate Housewives when paired with high heels. A Nanushka teddy coat is $637 from $850. Can we talk about the lines on this Isabel Marant sweater ($750 from $995)?

I've been planning on adding an Awake maxi pleated skirt ($408 from $575)  to my wardrobe this Winter. I love the monochrome look of a matching color top when paired with a contrasting color high boot or low boot. This Proenza version pleated skirt is gorgeous too but it's a lot more expensive at $1200 from $1600.

Moda has great fashion but it's not always the go-to place for shoes and bags. This is when 24S steps in-- especially items discounted 40% off in its private sale.  A Jacquemus bracelet bag is $192 from $275, a Prada belt bag is $770 from $1100 and lightning bolt heels are $562 from $937. Balenciaga Triple S sneakers are $683 from $975 and The Row's drawstring bag is $840 from $1200.

There is also great clothing. Check out the shoulders on this Rick Owens puffer that's $1317 from $1880 or this  Etoile Isabel Marant puffer that's $388 from $555. This Off-White puffer ($1050 from $1500)  sold out at Net-A-Porter's friends and family sale and it's available here for even a little less.  Balmain sweatshirt is $231 from $385.

All of the prices at 24S include shipping, taxes, and duties. The best part is the surprise gift box. I won't ruin the surprise but, I promise, you'll be delighted. Now I want to buy something just for the gift box. Damn it!

Nordstrom NYC's First Presale

Nordstrom opened it's first woman's store in Manhattan only a few weeks ago and now we are moments away from the store's first sale. Presale will begin on Friday and the sale will officially go public in the store on November 24. You can click here to see what designer merchandise has already been discounted online.

As we started to prepare for the Nordstrom presale, it quickly became clear that the store didn't open with many of the items that would normally go on markdown at other Nordstroms around the country. The bulk of styles that will fill the sale racks at the high-end Nordstrom stores in Scottsdale and Dallas are not stocked in NYC. In addition, many of the handbag areas at the NYC store are leased and will not follow the standard Nordstrom markdown.

In the jump, you will find some pictures of what we know will be part of the presale in New York and additional photos from around the country. We also listed key contacts at various locations. As always, we will add more pictures to the post as they become available.

Some designer merchandise is already discounted online. Discounts range from 25% to 33% off. Some of the standouts include this Chloe shirtdress that's reduced to $1762 from $2350 and a Versace print belted dress for $1500 from $2000. Gianvitto Rossi shearling boots are $1120 from $1500 and Balenciaga pointed toe boots are $1100 from $1475.

We spotted this Saint Laurent printed tote for $972 from $1900. a Balenciaga small camera bag is $750 from $925 and Aquazzura mesh pumps are $600 from $795. This Gucci scarf is $665 from $950.

Contemporary brands are presently reduced up to 30% to 40% off.  We spotted Halogen cashmere sweaters that come in an assortment of jewel tones for $65 from $98, which is an excellent price for mid-market cashmere. Hunter tall boots are $99 from $150 and this Lafayette 148 leather skirt is $718 from $1200.

Online shoppers can also take advantage of a loyal gift card promotion. If you spend $500 you will get $125 gift card, spending $300 will earn a $60 gift card and spending $150 will get you a $30 gift card. The incentive runs through November 19.

Remember, Nordstrom is great about price matching. If you see something, say something. Well, um, screenshot and call.

Saks Presale Begins 40% Off

Saks Fifth Avenue will begin it's seasonal presale Thursday morning. We headed over early today to start gathering information about what shoppers can expedct.. The markdown is 40% off on most items and the selection has some unexpected twists. The sale officially goes live online on Monday.

The main floor of handbags is a little hard to navigate. Many of the spaces are leased by the brands and not cooperating in the markdown right now. For example, YSL bags in NYC will not be part of the presale but will be available at a discount at other Saks stores throughout the country. The same is true for Louboutin. Valentino bags at the 5th Avenue will be discounted by 40%. A Mini Rockstud crossbody in light blue and light green will be $807 from $1345.

You can click here to see some pictures of what's included in the markdown. We have non-NYC Saks contacts listed below.

The presale racks weren't erected on Wednesday but we had a few helpful spies to assist in curating a selection of pictures. The Gucci selection consists of some classic style Princetowns, sneakers, and a variety of sandals and slides.  These Gucci sandals are already available in blue for the sale price of $247 from $500. The green, pink and brown should be reduced online soon.

Balenciaga Triple S sneakers and Speedrunners are part of this season's markdown. The SSS's are available in a variety of colors and come to $680 from $975. We have pictures in the jump and also tagged the styles above so that you can add them to your cart when the sale goes live online.

The Saks shoe selection also will consist of a great assortment of Manolo Blahniks heels and flats and Valentino Rockstuds. Valentino shoes are discounted by 30%. Black-on-black
Rockstuds will be $591. Louboutin shoes will be reduced by 30%. Leopard Pigalle Follies will be $521 from $745.

Fendi, Givenchy and Jimmy Choo shoes will also round out the collection fo sale shoes. We have lots of pictures in the jump and will be sure to add more as they become available.

If there is an item you like that's on presale at Saks, we suggest you jump on the opportunity. We've listed lots of contact information. The sale goes live online on Monday (and more designers on Tuesday). It wouldn't be a bad idea to fill your cart now and use the weekend to edit.

Shopbop & Intermix Markdowns 50% Off

Is there any better way to close the day than with a good scroll through the most recent markdowns? We couldn't agree more. Shopbop and Intermix just launched a round of reductions, which includes lots of new season merchandise that's reduced 30% to 50% off.

You can click here to access the VIP selection on Intermix. Some standouts include a WeWoreWhat jumpsuit is $125 from $225. It looks so good on Danielle Bernstein that we are tempted to give it a try at this price. A Rejina Pyo mohair-blend sweater in sunshine yellow is $419 from $700. We are also very into this Phillip Lim belted sweater for $390 from $650. Ombre blouse is very on-trend this season and this silk variation from Olivia Rubin is wallet-friendly at $169 from $335.

There aren't a lot of noteworthy shoes and bags in the Intermix markdown. We suggest you look now and check out when the next round of better designer markdowns occur.

Over at Shopbop, you will do much better in the accessories category. We really like these classic Stuart Weitzman classic low boots that come to $416 from $600, Malone Souliers pumps are $430 from $625, and these Alice & Olivia animal print low boots are the cats meow at $345 from $500. These patterned Golden Goose sneakers are $260 from $515. You can bet that this Hayward mini shopper bag is less money than what you will find at the sample sale at $200 from $800.

Beyond the shoes, we really like this Frame blazer that's now $437 from $625 or this more collegiate Veronica Beard blazer is $520 from $700. There is a good selection of Nili Lotan. These classic military pants are $225 from $375 and a leopard blazer is $417 from $695.

Both these sales only include a small selection of the fall and winter merchandise. There will still be lots more to come. Stay tuned1

LuisaViaRoma 40% Off Sale

Singles Day seems to have overtaken Black Friday when it comes to luxury fashion but the deals aren't done. LuisaViaRoma has a promotion where sale merchandise is an additional 40% off. You can use the code EX40 to engage the extra savings at checkout.

I'm kind of crazy for these Midnight 00 heels. They are standard pumps but wrapped with PVC, which creates a dramatic flair. After the discount, they come to $391 from  $1300. Here is a similar style in a nude mule.  Boyy boots come to $390 from $750. They are also available in burgundy and brown suede. These Gia Couture two-tone high boots are $300 from $823.

These Alexander Birman sandals come to $140 from $416 and are a no-brainer for something new to take on a winter get-away. Speaking of a cheap thrill, these Ioannis sandals with shells come to only $60 and they also come in nude too.

It's hard to call out a lot of fashion items because the style is so unique. I am drawn towards these waxed canvas black pants from Danielle Carlotta that are $230 from $620. This Dodo Bar Or sundress is $350 from $840 and this heavy gage Missoni sweater is $555 from $1055.

There is also a hefty sale section for kids.  What's good, will all depend on what sizes you're shopping for.

The most reduced items are obviously from this past summer and prior. Some items aren't even worth the price at 40% off but I had a lot of fun carting some cheap thrills.

Stay Warm at the Annabelle Fur Sample Sale

Staying warm and stylish is never easy when it's very cold. When temperatures drop there is no better way to keep warm than in fur, cashmere or down.

Ahead of the foreboding cold, Annabelle is hosting a sample sale that's sure to warm your heart, body, and wallet. The sale will include a large assortment of high-quality fur coats, vests, jackets, and accessories. Prices will be well under wholesale.

Annabelle manufactures the highest quality outerwear and chances are you have seen their products at the biggest department stores under several different labels. Cashmere coats with fur details are $300. Basic down jackets start at $60, which is less than Uniqlo. Down jackets and coats with fur are $300 and they are ten times better than any coat you'll buy off of Amazon. Fur vests are $200 and kid's hats with fur poms are just $30. You can see pictures from the last sale right here.

The sample sale will also include a variety of cold winter accessories, like knit hats with fur pom-poms. (Seems like a perfect holiday gift to me!) Of course, you will also be able to find an assortment of high-quality coats ranging from a full mink to fox and other exotic skins.

Once you're geared-up and looking great, it won't matter even if it's cold, cold, freezing.

Singles Day: Sales Galore

Singles Day is the Chinese version of an anti-Valentines day. Really, what's there not to love? Celebrating social freedom with shopping.

The shopping-focused day first started in 1993, by a group of Chinese college students, to celebrate the state of being single. The date November 11 (or 11/11) was chosen because of the ones-- obviously. Elevens, according to numerology, is a “master number” which signifies intuition, insight, and enlightenment.

We've started to think of Singles Day as 'Treat Yourself Day.' After all, we've never turned down an occasion to shop and buy something nice. Retailers are jumping in on the trend too.
