Tessabit Takes 50% Off Special Selection

The sale season in Italy is getting heated. The Italian boutique, Tessabit is taking its sale section and reducing designer merchandise to half-off. Mad-Spy readers can access the sale early through this link with the code: MADISONAVENUE50XT.

Remember, the 50% off code can only be applied to the items in this edit. You can save 20% on all other items with the code: TSB25.

Some 50%-off highlights include these Fendi logo sandals that are $425 from $850 and Balenciaga loafers are $350 from nearly $700. This Balmain blazer comes to $1000 from $3200 US retail and a Dolce & Gabbana floral print skirt is $670 from $1345. This pink Fendi scarf is a great gift at $375 from $750 and these Alexander McQueen biker scarves are great for covering the face at $130 from $260.

The selection for men is as good, if not, better than the options for women. So don't be shy forwarding the code to your male counterparts.

The best part of the Tessabit promotion is that the merchandise is coming from Italy and many of the items retail for less money when compared to our retail prices. Shipping costs are nominal, all duties are covered and even returns are free. You won't do any better than this (right now.)

Net-A-Poter Shipping from Hong Kong

In 2018, Net-A-Porter and Alibaba entered into a joint venture, which allowed NAP tap into the Chinese company's sprawling logistics network and affiliated payment platform, Alipay. Now, Net-A-Porter is taking advantage of that platform and allowing worldwide shoppers to purchase from the Hong Kong-based site.

US Shoppers can tap into the Chinese platform with this link. Prices are slightly less than the US on most items. Shipping is free on purchases over $322-ish. Duties are not covered but it appears as if the additional fees are slightly less than NYC sales tax. We suggest tapping into this resource if you're having a hard time locating an item state-side.

Some good options are the Bottega Veneta mini Jodie bag that is $1781 (or $60 more than the US). The simple Bottega leather mules are mostly sold here but are still available here for $735 (or $50 less). Some other hard-to-find highlights include the Hermes and Cartier watches. The medium Tank Française is about $200 less.

We spotted some very cool Golden Goose. This pair with silver detailing is than the US at $371. These sneakers hit the magic balance of being over the shipping minimum but under the duty maximum before taxes. It's a triple win!

We suggest staying away from Gucci unless there is something you really haven't been able to find. It appears as if prices are about 10% more than they are here. It's just further proof that you always need to do your research.

NOTE: Click on the first Intermix link to engage this VIP access and to see the extra 50% off.

It's time to start sale-ing! Intermix just started an incredible promotion where sale merchandise is an additional 50% off. The discount on many items translates to a total discount of nearly 80%.

Jumping right in, we suggest you quickly run through a Zimmerman edit because the good pieces tend to go very quickly. This white embroidered dress comes to $315 from $900 and this floral print halter dress comes to $230 from $650. Other highlights include this Ulla Johnson floral print dress that's a steal at $175 from $445.

Here is a tweed Veronica Beard blazer that's $195 from $650, this pretty seafoam green dress from Sea is $90 from $300, and heart shape Saint Laurent sunglasses is $130 from $420.

There is also a great assortment of denim. My personal favorite brand is GRLFRND and here is a pair of classic Karolina jeans in a light wash for just $40 from $250 and this denim skirt is just $30 from $188. Here are Rag & Bone boyfriend jeans that are $85 from $275 and Frame high flared jeans that are $60 from $230.

This sale will last through May 1. These extreme sale-on-sale events usually don't happen until the end of the season. We suggest you start scrolling fast because the best merchandise tends to go fast.

Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

This is officially our seventh episode of quarantine weekend shopping. Mother's Day is right around the corner. It's May 10 to be exact. I can't stress enough how important it is to make a plan. Shipping is taking a long longer than usual and those taking a more creative approach should use the extra time to plan a perfect execution.

I updated our gift guide with a few more options. Including, quarantine friendly house slippers from Mini Rose. Anyone lucky enough to have shorted the market on February 20th can relish in an indulgence from Takat, which is cracking open the safe and offering great values on gems and jewels. Click here to see our full Mother's Day gift guide.

We are also extending our deep wealth of knowledge and connections to help track down hard-to-find items. We'll consider the task a gift -- mothers-helping-mothers. Email us here if there is something you need help sourcing.

Some of the best sales of the week included Tessabit's promotion for MadSpy friends. Use the code MADISONAVENUE40XT and receive 40% off any item within this link. I just found one more of these Saint Laurent totes that are discounted to $690 from $1150 and this Fendi logo bag is $774 from $1300.  Click here to see more of our best finds.

This week, Bergdorf Goodman added an additional 30% off sale items.  The site continually adds more items to the sale selection. Usually, sizes are limited and quantities are scarce. You have to move quickly and you only have through Sunday to take advantage. Look out for the plentiful assortment of Veronica Beard blazers for under $200 from $700 and these Paris Texas boots are $170 from $610.

Saks Fifth Avenue started it's big Spring sale this week. There are lots of contemporary and designer deals at 40% off. In addition, there is a promotion where you can save $50 off every $200 you spend. The deal highlights are Manolo Blahnik shoes and Saint Laurent bags and shoes. Enter the code HAPPYSF to engage the savings. Check back to our earlier post to see other finds.

Beauty addicts still have a few more days to take advantage of Sephora's Spring Savings. You can save up to 20% off everything on the site. Dyson Hair products are a sure thing and are difficult to find on sale or go for a gift set and experience some new products. Click over to the original story for all the details.

Coming up this week, Intermix will be having an explosive sale-on-sale promotion and Neiman Marcus will have an extra clearance discount promotion.

Until next week... same time, same place? Cheers!

Great Options for Mother's Day Gifts

I don't recall there ever being a time when mothers were more deserving of heroic recognition. Days in quarantine, especially with young ones, bring the definition to a whole new level. We are teachers, chefs, housekeepers, mental health counselors, friends,  physical trainers, activity directors, and that doesn't even include our professional obligations.

I appreciate that times are hard but this is not the year to slight the woman who runs the roost. No matter your budget, it's incumbent upon partners and children to make sure your madre feels appreciated.

Make it big or don't come home. Make a giant ode to mom in the form of a sidewalk chalk card or cook her favorite restaurant dinner and clean it up. Be sure to top it off with lots of hugs and kisses.  Even better, if you're in the position to do so, buy her something she would love.

Remember, deliveries are delayed at most stores. Don't wait until the last minute.

Below is a list of a few of my favorite things:

Bottega Veneta mini Jodi bag ($1720)

Minnie Rose house slippers ($154)

Bea Bongiasca Baby Vine Tendril Ring  ($675)

Chanel sunglasses with a chain ($525 from $700)

Solange Hotlips ring ($230)

Bottega Veneta padded Cassette bag ($2800)

Manolo Hangisi heels ($750 from $1025)

Gucci hair clip ($400)

Hermes Lipstick ($67 to $72)

Sea lace blouse ($157 from $225)

111Skin Celestial Black Diamond Lifting Mask - Face, neck & décolletage  ($180 from $230)

Tessabit: 40% Off Designer Merchandise

We've been waiting for some heated sales and this one will definitely set off some sparks. The Italian boutique, Tessabit is hosting a 40% off sale that is only open to Mad-Spy readers can access the sale early through this link with the code: MADISONAVENUE40XT.

Some of the sale highlights include this new style Valentino bag that's $867 from $1445, a Balmain sweatshirt is $370 from $525, Saint Laurent tote is $690 from $1150 and a new style Balenciaga tee is $300 from $500. The sale even includes some very good Gucci items.  Here is a Gucci belt-bag that's just $690 from $1150 and a Marmont belt bag is $1190 from $1980.

The selection for men is as good, if not, better than the options for women. So don't be shy forwarding the code to your male counterparts.

The best part of the Tessabit promotion is that the merchandise is coming from Italy and many of the items retail for less money when compared to our retail prices. All duties are covered and even returns are free. You really can't do any better than this right now. The code is valid until May 14.

Saks Spring Sale: 40% Off

Online bargain shoppers are anticipating explosive sales but we will probably have to wait until stores open before seeing the full impact of Covid-19 on the retail market. For now, there isn't much restocking on websites. Until stores open and new merchandise is received and uploaded, the sales will probably remain pretty tame.

This week is normally time for sales on Spring merchandise. Right now at Saks Fifth Avenue, you can save 40% off Spring merchandise. The big differentiator from prior seasons is that a few luxury designers are included in this markdown. Usually, this type of early Spring sale doesn't include designers like Chloe and Khaite.

Some of the standout items we spotted include a LoveShackFancy skirt for $180 from $260, Chloe wedge sandals for $390 from $650, and a Khaite puff sleeve blouse for $528 from $880.  If you can bear to look at Winter merchandise there are several nice items from Moncler. There are even doggie winter jackets and a raincoat for dogs. Someone in the family should look good on walks!

The sale just started today and we wouldn't be surprised if additional designer merchandise is added. We suggest you continue to check back.

Neiman Marcus Bankruptcy and Extra Savings Now

The luxury fashion retail sector is getting hit with another big blow. The Dallas-based retailer, Neiman Marcus is expected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection later this week. The iconic store missed a $5.7 million interest payment, which is triggering an immediate need for a lifeline.

Neiman Marcus is said to be holding $4.3 million in debt and operates 43 retail stores, along with Last Call and two Bergdorf Goodman locations in Manhattan. All stores have been temporarily closed since March because of COVID-19 but the retailer's problems started well before the worldwide pandemic. Store closings only hastened bankruptcy, which was rumored for about a year.

Filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection allows Neiman Marcus to default on some debt, remain open, close underperforming stores, restructure its operation, and secure additional capital that's structured in a way that's less challenging to pay back.

Gary Wassner, CEO of Hilldun Corp, a financial services company specializing in fashion and retail said that the Neiman Marcus bankruptcy should not be compared to Barneys as it's unlikely that Neiman Marcus will close its doors for good.

"Barneys was worth less than $1 billion and Neiman Marcus is a $5 billion company that has real value. It is a very valuable asset. They own a lot of their real estate and have a very strong CEO," Wassner said.

Wassner believes that part of retail's struggles has to do with the current promotional mindset. He believes deliveries come in too early and by the time customers are interested in shopping the merchandise is already on sale. "We are a buy now, wear now country. It's how people think," Wassner says.

Shoppers can expect a windfall of sales once stores open."Shoppers haven't even seen the Spring and Summer merchandise and it's going to have to get moving fast," Wassner says. "Nobody wants to ship into a discounted market." Retailers will have to speed up the Summer season and push Fall back.

Those looking for Neiman Marcus savings now can hit the sale section where reduced merchandise is an additional 25% off, which brings the total saving to 70% to 80% off on many items. There is also a beauty promotion where you can save 25% off most cosmetics and fragrances.  Bergdorf Goodman will begin offering an extra 30% off sale merchandise on Tuesday.

Be mindful of how you shop now. If our expectations are correct, you might want to save your cash for when stores open again.

LuisaViaRoma 30% Off

Tonight I made homemade gnocchi, sipped Tuscan wine and ending the evening with a scroll through the Florence-based LuisaViaRoma. Right now, you can save 30% off the new collection with the temporary code L30 or 25% off with the standing code OFF25.

There are lots of exclusions but we found a few key items that are worthwhile using this discount. Start with Balenciaga, which includes almost all merchandise.  This new style Balenciaga quilted bag $1183 from nearly $1700 and BB leather slides are $416 from $600.  You can also apply the savings to Manolo Blahnik styles, including Hangisi and Lurums. These Lurums are $900 from $1300 and they come in lots of colors. Hangisi heels are $700 from $1000 and are also available in a full spectrum.

Most Loewe merchandise can be used with the codes. Sandals are $455 from $650 and a Gate bag is $1540 from $2200.  Some other finds include Saint Barth canvas tote is $84 from $120, a Versace poof skirt is $472 from $675,  and the little Coperni Baguette is $466 from $670.

These Proenza x Birkenstocks are a nice designer twist on the classic and come to  $294 from $420 and standard Birkenstock Arazonas are just $64. (I actually just ordered all my kid's Birkenstocks for the Summer because these prices are so good.)

There is a time tracker for the 30% off code but it doesn't seem to expire too quickly if you apply it to your cart and continue to shop. If all else fails, you always can save 25% off with the alternative code above.

Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

This is the time of year that the sample sale season usually begins to heat up. This coming week 260 Sample Sale will attempt their first online sample sale with Oscar de la Renta.

Usually, the sale attracts enough shoppers to accumulate lines that span up to an hour to get in. This sale is prized for having ornate gowns priced between $600 and $1000 from retail prices that extend upward of $3000.

I'm wondering if an online sale can offer the same savings when there is the added expense of photographing, measuring and describing each item. I also question if shoppers will be willing to purchase items that aren't returnable. Fit can quality defects can widely range when it comes to samples.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this sale will unfold. In the meantime, there are more than enough sales happening at established retail stores. The LVMH-owned site, 24S, is running a promotion where you can save 20% off full-price items with the code SPRING20. The big designer names like Dior, Celine, Gucci, and YSL are excluded but there are still lots of great finds.

This Bottega Veneta small pouch is $1080 from $1350, a Givenchy mini tote bag is $880 from $1100,  and Valentino sneakers are $556 from $700. The 20% off code can also be applied for beauty and fragrance brands like Diptyque and Byredo.

Italist is where we look for designer items that are usually excluded from sale promotions. Discounts on the site are hitting what would normally found at a second markdown. This Fendi tote is $1871 from $2800, Saint Laurent Tribute slides are $400 from about $600. You can click here to read the full story.

Beauty addicts can rejoice with discounts up to 20% off during Sephora's Spring Savings Event. The savings can be significant when applied to more expensive and hard-to-find-on-sale items like a Dyson hair straightener that comes to $400 from $500 or the Airwrap curler. You can click over to the full blog post to see my favorite beauty items, the different discount levels, and phase-in dates.

If you're looking to expand your stay-at-home wardrobe, you should check out the markdowns on Shopbop. Post-COVID shoppers can browse Ssense for savings on more designer items.

Last but certainly not least, this week, we saw some great sale offerings from Nordstrom. The site is offering discounts of 60% off. As an added bonus, the store periodically adds a few designers to the sale assortment. You have to be fast to catch them but isn't that always the case with a good sale. Details can be found here.

This coming week we can look forward to Saks and Neiman Marcus starting spring sales for contemporary brands. Until next week... same time, same place? Cheers!

Italist Begins July-Like Markdowns

We all wait eagerly forward to Summer designer markdowns but how exciting would it be if you could get similar discounts today? Italist has already started to chisel away at prices on Spring '20 merchandise. The additional savings on top of the currency difference adds to some big savings. You might even go as far as saying it's as good as a first, or even second, markdown.

Take these Gucci Ace sneakers. They are currently $450 from $670 at Neiman Marcus. That's a savings of nearly 40% off. This Gucci floral print bag is always a favorite of mine for spring and is $995 from $1690 from Saks. Some other standouts include this LE 61 Saint Laurent camera bag that's $700 from nearly $1000 and the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche tote is $884 from $1150 US retail.

I am pretty sure that this Fendi terrycloth tote would have made its way to Instagram fame had this been a normal fashion season. Here it is for $1500 from $2690 US retail and is ready for its post-COVID-19 debut. This leather style Fendi tote from the same collection is $1000 less than it is at Fendi.

There are also some very good Valentino and Givenchy finds. This "V" belt is $360 from $525 US retail and a SuperVee bag is $1890 from $2875. Here are Amina Muadi heels that are $640 from nearly $1000 at stores here.

Italist's prices may not seem so discounted when you are looking at the site straight on. We suggest you do a search for retail stores to get an accurate retail price. We don't need to wait until July to pull the trigger. We can start enjoying now.

Ssense 20% Off Sitewide

It's almost time for a new Ssense promotion. This time we are talking about sitewide markdowns. Starting at noon today you can take 20% off nearly everything on the site with the code SHOP20. The code becomes active at 12pm EST.

The promotion has some key exclusions: Gucci, Dries Van Noten, Stone Island, Yeezy, Golden Goose, Comme des Garçons Play, Comme des Garçons Wallets, Acne Studios, Converse x Essentials, Stüssy x Nike, Loewe, Canada Goose, Valentino, Fendi, Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent..

We suggest you target your early searches to brands that are sometimes excluded from sitewide discounts.Christian Louboutin and Givenchy are always good markdown finds. This Givenchy tote is a great essential travel item at $1500 from $1790.

Ssense is always good to score some Balmain deals. Many times their retail price is lower than US retail, which makes the savings even greater. This Balmain sweatshirt comes to $360 from %500 US retail and this Balmain tee is $180 from $295 US retail.

The Ssense code doesn't currently have an expiration end date, which means that the promotion can end at any moment.  We suggest you browse right away because the best deals from top brands always get scooped up quickly.

ShopBop's First Official Markdown

The sweats lifestyle ensemble doesn't require much creativity but it's comfortable and functional. It's also mind-numbingly boring. I've been looking forward to the Shopbop markdown to spruce-up my comfort wardrobe and it's finally here. Right now you can save 40% off 1000s of new markdowns. Use this link to click over now.

Here is a RtA tie-dye sweatshirt that's $185 from $295, a camo tank jumpsuit from Z Supply is $48 from $80,  and this Raquel Allegra tee heart tie-dye tee is $145 from $208. I am also really into these Madeworn Rock tees that are reduced to $112 from $161.

There are also some Golden Goose sneakers on sale, which should tie in nicely with your haute sweats. This pair with neon laces are $300 from $600 and this paisley style is $275 from $550.

Hopefully, life in a confined habitat won't last for too much longer. Looking forward to a more dressed up Summer I suggest scrolling through the options from Ulla Johnson, Self Portrait and LoveShackFancy for a little whimsical positivity. This lace dress from Self Portrait is $261 from $475, a sarong from LoveShackFancy is $66 from $95,  and this Kenzo jungle print tote seems like an ode to Tigar King and is $300 from $435.

If the item you're watching isn't included in this markdown  Shopbop is likely to add it in the next sale drop. Usually, the site adds batches of merchandise every few weeks.

Finding Chanel Amidst a Pandemic

Those in isolation understandably like to surround themselves with comfort items. For some people, comfort comes in the form of double-Cs. It happens that Chanel's aversion to e-commerce has severely troubled shoppers at a time when most retail stores are closed.

Fulfilling your Chanel wishlist has become a struggle for many customers. Stores like Hirshleifers and Jefferys are able to provide shoppers with the new Chanel collections but are already running low on the most sought after items. I personally receive several emails and DMs daily about purchasing items all the while prices on the resale market are dropping nearly as quickly as crude oil.

For the past several weeks I've been tracking the prices of several Chanel items and some are relatively very well priced. Among the older and more inexpensive styles, I found contrast stitching top-handle bag is $725, a Camera bag is $1115, and this small Deauville Tote is $1970.  Some more recent styles include this 2.55 pouch with a chain handle that's $1200, the new Chain bag is $1485, a chevron-quilted backpack is $3000 from $3400, and a quilted Jumbo Double Flap is $2250 from $6400.

This season most of the new tweed styles range in price from $3000 to $5000 but we found a lot of styles that are significantly less but still very current. This tweed Camilla 2.55 reissue is $2000, a double flap is $2400, a velvet and tweed Boy Bag is $2300 from $4000 and wool and a tweed messenger bag is $1440.

Fashionphile allows for returns, which makes it the most attractive retail destination when shopping from preowned merchandise. Even if it means paying a little bit extra, I like to have the option to review the item before fully committing.

Nordstrom: Spring Sale 60% Off

It still feels like Amazon winter coat season but it's that time when retailers start beginning to get a move on Spring merchandise. Nordstrom just started an early Spring sale where most discounts hover around 50% off.

Those keeping track of Pandemic markdowns should know that  Nordstrom appears to be on the same schedule as last year but with a bit more designer merchandise. There are also some very inexpensive items that are worth bringing into your isolated environment as a special surprise to yourself.

If you're looking for more designer deals there are some good finds if you dig deep enough.  There are lots of bags from Perrin that are reduced 40% off. This glove clutch has been a favorite of mine for a long time and comes to $720 from $1200. I'm also super into these pointy toe Ferragamo Viva flats that I'm seeing on sale for the first time this season and come to $575 from $675. These Manolo Blahnik stripped slingbacks are $446 from $745. Here is this transparent Valentino Rockstud bag that's $2400 from $4000.

Among the less expensive thrills, I found this NYC cropped sweatshirt seems extra sentimental and it's just $16 from $42. Ombre crew socks are $6 from $15, and a Staud butterfly paisley print dress is $122 from $245.

This markdown just started. The Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale is when all the designer merchandise goes on markdown and that usually happens the last week of May.

Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

In our fifth episode of quarantine weekend shopping, I learned about the highly competitive sport of scoring a Fresh Direct timeslot. For others, Citarella has become the beacon of refuge from an apartment full of stir-crazy family.

Those looking to escape the madness in a real live shopping spree can point their clicker at Ssense, who again took a rollback on some Gucci prices. Here is a double-G Gucci belt that's priced at $325 from $460, a Gucci camera bag is $890 from $1200 and sandals are $345 from $490.

Not all Gucci items have been adjusted but enough to make it an interesting browse. We price checked most items and compiled an assortment in the pictures above that is worth your attention. Last time Ssense modified prices they were reverted back to normal and later switched to these items. We suggest you don't hesitate if there's been an item you've been eyeing.

Intermix extended its flash sale and added some excellent merchandise, including lots of Manolo Blahnik shoes,  reduced 40% off. These Blahnik Manolo Blahnik Martamod crystal slides are $570 from $945. Blaze Milano blazers have become a new obsession. This cream-colored style is $1170 from $1940. Some more affordable Summer options include this maxi dress from My Beachy Side that's $240 from $398 and a Melissa Odabash kaftan that's $261 from $435. Click here to read the full blog post.

Those looking to spruce up their beauty regiment should check out the Marc Jacobs beauty that's currently 50% off at Neiman Marcus. My favorite item from the collection is the Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel eye crayon that's now just $12.50 from $25. I always have two or three in back stock because it sells out from time to time. This liquid foundation brush is $24 from $48 and this popular Coconut Complexion set is $50 from $100 and comes with a variety of useful items.

Bergdorf Goodman is still offering an extra 25% off sale merchandise. The Row leather leggings are $390 from $2100. This is a prime collection piece that's priced less than the sample sale if you were to ever find them there. There are also some Row men's items, which have never been seen at a sample sale. You can also find a selection of Dior sunglasses reduced 60% off.

Farfetch Sales Begin

I anticipate that there will be a lot more designer sales as we near the timing of the natural markdown season. Most recently, Farfetch's conglomerate of boutiques began reducing some designer merchandise in an effort to spur business to the independent retailer.

Scrolling through, there are lots of designer options at 25% off and more. This Givenchy Eden bag is reduced half-off and comes to $1450 from $2900vand this Balenciaga canvas tote bag is $795 from $1325.

According to online shopping reports sales of Birkenstocks are up 98%. A time frame wasn't provided, which means data is pretty meaningless but nonetheless people are buying Birkenstocks. There are lots on sale on Farfetch. Arizona white Birks are reduced to $56 in some sizes and  Black Arizona Birks are $72. Bottega Veneta square toe pumps are $299 from $750 and these Gianvitto Rossi boots are 80% off bringing the price to $240 from $1200. (There are lots of sizes left too.)

Digging through the clothing options there is this Balmain tee that's $175 from $350 and a Cecilie Bahnsen puff sleeve dress is $824 from nearly $1100. There are lots of Self-Portrait options reduced 40% off. These high-rise shorts are $186 from $310 and this lace maxi-dress is $285 from $475.

We would keep an eye on Farfetch over the course of the next week. It seems primed for some extra discounts. Don't you agree?

Coltorti Boutique 30% Off Sitewide

It doesn't look like US retailers are ready to start discounting designer merchandise yet but that doesn't mean you can't find some great deals.

Coltorti is a multi-brand store with several boutiques along the Eastern coast of Italy. They are running a 30% off promotion that prices there merchandise way less than anywhere else once you count in the currency differential. The code DEALMOON30 can be applied to both sale items and the new season merchandise. There are some exclusions like Fendi, Prada, YSL Bottega, and Golden Goose but most all others are included.

Some standout items include this Balmain sweatshirt that comes to $350 from $500 and a classic Balmain blazer is $1070 from $2300 US retail. A Burberry quilted vest is $600 from $860 and an Off White Binder Clip bag is $660 from $1135 US retail.

You shouldn't miss the sale section. This Zimmerman one piece is $110 from $288, a Stella McCartney tie-dye hoodie is about $200 from $537 and a Dolce & Gabbana floral print top is $230 from $582.

Take note, the most reduced items in the sale section are several years old. For the price differential, the new season savings seems like a much better value.

Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

For the past several weeks I've had a lot of fun staging fantastical photoshoots from my closet of old gowns. Between home school, cooking, cleaning, and work, I am completely worn out and couldn't muster the energy to strike a pose. Instead, I'm throwing it back to my first photoshoot I did in honor of April Fools. (Ironically, the dress is also Matthew Williamson.)

The highlight of my week was receiving gifts I sent to myself. I always love to add gift wrapping and a note to my online purchases. (Am I the only one?) Looking back on the last seven days, we saw an array of site-wide sales. Despite the apparent industry panic, retailers have been very controlled in maintaining the prices of luxury designer merchandise.

I anticipate that a lot more designer sales as we near the timing of natural markdown season. Most recently, Farfetch's conglomerate of boutiques has started reducing some designer merchandise.  This red Balmain blazer, which seems to transcend season, is $1434 from $2300 US retail. This Balmain tank is $195 from $395 US Retail. This Givenchy ID39 bag is a fresh style that's piquing my interest at $1600 from $2150 and this Givenchy Eden is $1425 from $2850.

This week we also uncovered some great Gucci finds. Over at Kirna Zibete we spotted a small assortment of Gucci classics discounted 50% off. A small belt bag is $475 from $790,  Gucci loafers with a crystal G are $490 from $980, and open-toe heels are $295 from $590. SSense has a Supreme Ophidia clutch for $345 from $490 and Brixton loafers for $545 from $790. You can click here to see all the Ssense Gucci finds.

Bergdorf Goodman is hosting a promotion where discounted merchandise is an extra 25% off. Click here to see my favorite sale items. The Saks friends and family sale was extended a week and I took an immediate liking to this multi-color pastel LoveShackFancy dress is about $300 from $400 and this Staud puff sleeve dress that's $180 from $245. The full story on the Saks F&F is here.

MatchesFashion is offering a much stronger designer promotion. The code SHOPMF20 will save you 20% off most designers at checkout. Click here to see all info about what's included and excluded. This Self Portrait white mini-dress is $320 from $400 and Saint Laurant slides are $520 from $645.

So here's another to another week at home. I wish you a week full of lots of exciting fresh deliveries. Make Be sure to let me know if there is anything I missed.

MatchesFashion and Saks Discounts

MatchesFashion started a promotion where a large majority of the site's inventory is 20% off when combined with the code SHOPMF20. There is no master list of exclusions but we found that the code excludes Gucci, Golden Goose, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Acme, and some Bottega Veneta items.

Some pretty things that might be worth your attention include, this Saint Laurent Lou crossbody that's $870 from $1070, a Zimmerman floral print dress is $560 from $700. Givenchy loafers are $720 from $900 and a Bottega Cassette bag is $1520 from $1900. Fendi sandals, which sold out many times last Summer, are $600 from $750. For some real eye candy check out this Fendi blazer that was updated for the Spring season in floral jacquard.

Those looking to save on more "essential" items should take a browse through the Saks friends and family sale. The discount is 25% off but almost all higher-end designers are excluded from the promotion. People swear by Commando faux-leather leggings and they are $73 from $98 and a cap sleeve bodysuit is $66 from $88. Stuart Weitzman suede sandals are $300 from $400 and a multi-color pastel LoveShackFancy dress is about $300 from $400.

The MatchesFashion and Saks friends and family sale run through Monday.

Bergdorf Goodman Extra 25% Off: Discounts hit 80%

We were just informed that Bergdorf Goodman started a promotion where sale merchandise is an additional 25% off. The promotion translates to deeper reductions in final clearance and brings discounts to 80% off on some items. You can click here to access the sale selection.

Lucky thing we spent the evening scouring Bergdorfs in anticipation of this extra discount. In the handbag section, we found this Loewe bag that now comes to $750 from nearly $2000. Beyond that, there aren't many other bags worthy of a call-out.

The shoe selection is spotty on sizes but it's worth sorting by your size. Here is a pair of Manolo Blahnik classic pumps come to $170 from $665, Paris Texas boots are $180 from $595, Tabitha Simmons houndstooth slingbacks are $70 from $700. There is also a large assortment of Dior sunglasses that price out at under $200.

We are feeling optimistic and started lightly shopping for new Summer items. This pretty pink LoveShackFancy dress is youthful, sweet and affordable at $210 from $500 and a floral print minidress is $190 from $495. A gauzy white Zimmerman dress is $160 from $850.

This promotion will officially started at 11pm EST and will run through Thursday, April 9. We suggest you load up your cart this evening and pull the trigger once the sale goes live. Then head over to  Bergdorfs to see if you find anything better.

Gucci For Amazing Prices

Luxury retailer,  Ssense has adjusted the prices of many assorted Gucci items. The price changes aren't indicated in any way so you have to be an eagle-eye shopper to spot them.

This Gucci mini Dionysus is $595 from $827, a Marmont on a chain is $690 from $980 and Marmont a Classic bag is $1295 from $1890. A double-G Gucci belt is now $295 from $450 and Ace sneakers are $445 from $618. Some colors of Gucci loafers are reduced to $675 from $730, Princestown slides are $590 from $645 and Peyton slides are $545 from $790.

Not all Gucci items have been adjusted but enough to make it an interesting browse. We price checked most items and compiled an assortment that is worth your attention. Last time  Ssense modified prices they were reverted back to normal pretty quickly. We suggest you don't hesitate.
